I really want to make youtube videos, lets plays of animal crossing. But I find it ridiculous that you have to spend like $700 on a modded 3DS just to do such a simple task. What do you guys think?

No, there won't. If you want to do videos that much just record it on a camera. Modded 3ds' are only like 200-300$ if ualready have a ds.

I highly doubt that they'll be making one, sorry! I'm not entirely sure if the channel would be that popular either considering the New Leaf hype has died down a bit more. If you wanted it to be popular, then I'd suggest waiting for the next game and starting right away when it comes out. If a new game comes out on the WiiU, then it'll be much easier for you to make videos without spending a bomb (with the connecting to the TV option).

If you don't care about that and you still want to make videos, then buying a capture card is the only way you'll be able to do it. Unless of course you find a way to set up a video camera without getting a bad quality video, which I think is difficult to do with your fingers in the way.

You won't get many views as acnl has died a bit, and to be honest, even acnl players don't really watch them except if they show tips and tricks. Plus people will only want to watch your videos if they are of good quality. That involves editing with a good software, and that takes time to do that. And nobody really likes watching a video with nobody speaking on it, so you'd need to voice over , and that is again some work.
Not trying to be unpleasant. But it isn't worth the money. And the time.
