will somebody move in if i tt backwards?

so i have an open plot rn and i was wondering if somebody would move in if i tt’d backwards - i’m a few days ahead (may 24th) and wanna go back to the actual date, but i’m not sure if the game would count that as a new day and have somebody randomly move in ;u;

My guess is yes, a villager will move in if you time travel backwards. This happened in New Leaf.

Yeah, someone will move in. TTing backwards will always count as 1 day no matter how far back you go, but that's all you need for a plot to get snatched up.
