Will red x red carnation make a pink carnation

Hi,

Do any of you know if you crossbreed a red carnation with another one it will make a pink carnation?

I have already got 5 new red carnations but no pink ones, is it possible but do I just need to wait it out?

I'd think that you'd need to breed the two types that are given to you for mother's and father's day to get the third (can't remember which is which).

That's incorrect. You get the red one on Father's Day and The Pink one on mother's day, You breed the red one with the pink one you can either get red, pink, or white.
