Will my villager move here?

I have an area for a villager to move in on a river bend, there is enough space to walk but I can't put a hole or pattern there.

if you can’t fit a pattern between the house plot and the river then no it won’t fit. You need to be able to fully surround a house plot with patterns, plus an extra one in front of the door

You have to make sure that there is enough space in front of the house (for the door) and on the sides.
Maybe if you're able to upload a pic you could show us which place you want to use for the house.
