Okay, so i'll be quite annoyed at myself if this is the case. I recently got Katt yesterday, and without thinking about it today i loaded up my mayor however I only got to the part where Isabelle was like "have a nice day" and then i realised what I was doing and quickly exited the game before my mayor could leave her house. Will I still be able to plot reset her? or is that impossible now. Ugh..

Someone else will have to confirm, but I'm pretty sure that you're out of luck because she technically loaded up your game file. You might not have progressed to the town itself, but I think it still counts. I read a post the other day where someone accidentally clicked on their mayor file when plot resetting and closed before Isabelle could load anything up, and apparently it worked for them. I think that would be the only case where clicking on your mayor's save wouldn't screw up plot resetting.
That said, you can always just check by making a few new files and get a definitive answer that way.

As soon as you tell isabelle "lets start" she will save the game before the mayor shows up on screen. If you turned it off in the middle of that saving process, when it says "don't touch the power button" I'm not sure, but if she said "have a nice day" and the screen goes black right before your mayor comes out, it's too late D:.
I would say if you really want her just try and make the best of it. Some of the cutest parts of my town happened from having to work around things. Again I'm sorry that's the worst!

zomb is right on this one. :c unless you exited out before Isabelle prepared your town, Katt'll stay put stubbornly there.
Thanks guys for the replies! Unfortunately Katt can't be plot resetted, as I just tried and she wouldn't budge from the spot. That's what I get for playing so early in the morning. It could've been worse though, she could've plotted right infront of retail. She plotted beside it with a few spaces in between them so it's not too bad I think I can try to work around it, although she's not in line with my secondary character's house. I'll pop by this thread later asking for ideas on what to do with the area her house is in though. But thanks for the reassurance!
