Will I be able to rebuild?

I'd like to switch out this bridge for another but I'm not sure if I'd be able to rebuild it as my house may be in the way. This happened to me once before when I built a bridge then a flower arch close to each other but when I tried to replace the bridge, it said the arch was in its way so I had to rebuild the arch. I'm worried that I won't be able to rebuild the bridge if I destroy it as my mayor's house may be in the way, the house of corse, less replaceable as an arch ;-;

If I'm counting correctly, it looks like you have 3 spaces between your house and the bridge. I can't say for sure, but unfortunately I highly doubt that you can replace that bridge. I think you would need at least 4 spaces, and even then I wouldn't trust it.

If I followed this, I should be able to replace it. It's just nerve-racking as if it doesn't work, my whole town is going to annoy me

yeah i dont think you can replace it, acnl is always finicky....
maybe if you changed the rest of your bridges to cobblestone, it would be less annoying?
i know that would make me feel more at ease
and you can always just change the town design around your house to match a new bridge placed elsewhere
remember, acnl is always open to new ideas and possibilities!

I wanted to update that today my husband built a bridge directly behind his house and there are only 2 spaces between them. Isabelle allowed it and it's currently in place. I don't know if the front of the house is different from the back of the house because of the doorway, but I now believe that it is possible. The Welcome Amiibo update must have really decreased the space required.
