All day the internet stuff on my Wii U has been acting up. It took me forever to update and it kept having errors, it took forever to make a Nintendo Network ID because of errors, and I still cannot access the eShop to download my digital copy of Wind Waker and Hyrule Historia. Whats wrong?

Also, the browser works great, and is fast, but nothing else can load. Even Miiverse takes forever.
In fact, I typed this from my Wii U.

Nintendo's servers are packed. Not surprised as it's Christmas and new consoles are setting up at the same time. They're working on fixing it.

I've been trying to set up my own Wii U but I can't get it to connect to my NNID yet.

On the bright side, Nintendo is selling so much Wii U systems for the servers to be like this.

The servers are packed right now , I set up my little brother's Wii U this morning at it took AGES , People are trying to get everything working. It'll calm down sooner or later

It's probably, as everyone else said, just because the servers are packed. I bought a Wii U a week and a half ago for my birthday and it was fine then (although I do have 80/30 Internet). I downloaded WWHD in about 20 minutes and the update took about 30 minutes.

Yup. Having problems here too with Miiverse but Nintendo published a message saying they were working on it.

My friend's new Wii U took forever to update.

Also I went over to my brother's house and played his Wii U and it would randomly disconnect from the internet off and on. Nintendo must have some really bad servers if these issues are occuring. Come on Nintendo, step it up.

Both my 3ds and my WiiU are having issues today. I'm not even setting anything up. I miss my MiiVerse tonight. I even went so far as to reset my router to try to get them back up to no avail. :(

Actually they don't. Haven't run into too many problems with them over the years. There's just A LOT of people on them right now. Ran into the same thing with Game Sync before. They do a pretty good job keeping them up to date and maintained.

Seems like Pokemon Bank and Pokemon Transfer took a big part of why we have this crash. Now it's down at the moment and the release date for NA and EU are "TBD".
Yet the servers are still down.

And I still can't finish setting up my system...

I had errors while doing an update before playing a game yesterday too. I wouldn't be too concerned. By next week everything will be back to normal. :)

Yep. Some rotten eggs spoiled it for us. So now we have to wait. For how long, who knows.

Just wait on it for now. They've even said to people, don't try to do that kind of thing for now until things are straightened up.

Now Miiverse is starting to slow down. No eShop, no Miiverse, what next? I have NO Wii U games to play because I got the WWHD bundle. Will turning off my Wii U make any games download automatically? I remember agreeing to something like that.

I feel for you dude. Seriously not cool :(

Nintendo of America has been apologizing to its consumers for 2 days. But I have to say that I can now access the eShop now. Be patient, it's not as speedy as it usually is. I bought Little Inferno as it has its price reduced.

Very important for new Wii U owners. If you bought a Wii U Deluxe system (in black), you have a reward program going on for free Nintendo eShop money. Please, visit this site to register and get your free Nintendo eShop currency.
