I'm currently plot resetting to get Maple to move into the nice spot I made ready for her, ofc she's not co-operating! :D but something I REALLY wish we could do in ACNL - is to control the camera in the intro\menu, where sometimes the camera will pan over different houses or focusing on a villager.. why can't we control the camera to quickly look over town for a new villagers house plot or something - would be really helpful, then we wouldn't be suprised with a random villager move-in right in front of your town hall or something :D

idk i wish we could control the cameraaa

That would be pretty pointless because when a villager's plot shows up in the main menu camera, it's not locked in. When you actually load the game, that location can change.

By the way, if a villager keeps moving into the same few spots over and over again, turn off your game and 3DS and start it up again.

Yeah not be able to have many interactions with the camera is kinda weird. I wish we would be able to move it so we can see the sides of houses and stuff like that.

i want to rotate the camera outdoors and not just in houses, although i guess that would take a lot of work to implement.

They'd have a hard time doing it as a lot of buildings and graphics rely on the camera angle being fixed. Heck, even the rolling land effect would need to be binned, or heavily modified.
