I've had Rudy and Clyde since the beginning, and i really need to get them to move out soon... Their house plots are in such awkward places, so i need them to leave relatively soon.

In the past 2 days, both Rudy and Clyde have pinged me for a move out but when i tell them "okay bye", they change their minds and end up staying in town. How do i get them to leave?

Thanks!

If other villagers tell you they're moving, don't talk to them.
They'll always have the chance to take it back once you've talked to them.

No other villagers have told me that Rudy or Clyde have been thinking about moving, so when Rudy and Clyde ping me it's so they can ask to leave. If i hear other villagers saying that they want to leave, i'll ignore them in future. Thanks!

If they change their minds like that, you can just reset and hopefully they'll actually want to leave this time. Or, you can simply ignore them like Snowesque mentioned, as resetting the game actually won't change whose planning on moving out.

Yeah, as HollyYoshi said, if I hear rumors a villager that I want to move is planning to do so, I save before I get them to ping me. Then, if they change their mind, I reset and usually get them to agree on the second attempt. Or you can just reset and ignore them like Snowesque said. If you don't talk to them, I don't think they can change their mind about moving. You can keep talking to your other villagers to confirm the rumor up until their move date.

After they agree to move, I'm also very careful about how I talk to them before their move date, because they can change their mind at anytime. I've found that it's safe to chat if they're in a shop or the museum, but if I initiate a conversation outside or in their home, they bring up the move and might stay.

Finally, how good is your friendship with these two villagers? It seems they're much more likely to agree to leave if you have high friendship. If not, you're probably better off ignoring them.

Yeah i think from now on i'll have to ignore them. Love them as villagers but their house placements are driving me up the wall so they gotta be ignored unfortunately.
