It worked with my Fang. He won't move for some reason and I was expecting my friend's Beau. Apparently I ignored him long enough that he missed me. So I talked to him once and he was like "wow I haven't seen you in 2 weeks!" I saved and exited the game. The next time I logged in, he pinged me and said he wanted to move.

Now I'm starting to worry...
I need to get Rolf out of my cycle town tonight, since I'm holding him for someone, so I can move him into my main because I am resetting my cycle town to be my new main.
He's not budging...He already asked me 3 times and I said no cause I wasn't sure about the resetting.
And now..oh Rolf..Just...please..
Plus I need to reset tonight to get Beau from someone

If it helps any. I have this curse that, whenever someone holds a villager for me, they will NEVER ping. I almost had Kid Cat taken from me because the person wanted to reset their town and he refused to ping her. Merengue also took fifteen zillion ages, for NO reason, to ping. It's only when people are holding them for me. It's such an awful-feeling curse. ;-;

Technically you can keep the game on the same day for as long as you want, just as long as you remember to keep TTing back. ^^

It's pretty difficult, in my opinion, to keep it on the same day. But I also sleep like a cat/bear/whatever thing that sleeps a lot, so that could be part of my problem >_>; My paranoia/anxiety levels also increase by tenfold if I have to stay on a certain day, so... I dunno. You might want to take a break from trying to cycle him out and just play normally -- that might help your anxiety.

I suggest you just play casually and continue on with your ACNL life... He will ping you when you least expect it. Trust me... It always happens to me. I try and try to get somebody to ping, they don't ping. I'm playing casually and doing errands for my villagers/doing my dailies/etc, they ping me and tell me they want to move.
So act like you don't want him to move and the game will read your mind and say "Oh, you likes this villager? HE MUST MOVE!"
Works every time.

My town is overgrown with flowers and fossils now. Thank goodness I have the beautiful town ordinance or all my flowers would be gone.

It happens. It took more than 32 villager pings to move before Maple asked to move.
