Smash Bros Why Sonic?

sonic is kind of hated in the same level as little mac because they are very easy to pickup and spam attacks by unskilled noobs. I do have so much respect for players who play these characters decently

But... I'm an unskilled noob and I don't spam as Sonic...

IMO Spin dash (that's side B right?) is a really bad move to spam.

I wasn't laughing at Sonic the Hedgehog, I was laughing at the people he's being drawn by on Miiverse...

I personally find this hate to be unnecessary.... Yes, he can be a spammy trash character, but that's only if you play him that way. I must admit I've seen a fair share of spammy Sonic players in For Glory, but there ARE a COUPLE decent ones... I myself think I play him pretty decently... I manage to win 50% of the time using Sonic without using his side B more than three times a match


Also, it should be noted that Sega really needs to badger Nintendo about adding OTHER Sonic Franchise characters in (Sonic, NOT Sega characters) as DLC. I'm talking about Amy, Tails, Shadow, Knuckles, Rouge, etc. Any of those would be fine. The fact that he's still so underly represented hurts Sega badly, but if they release more of those characters beside him I feel like some of the hate would be taken off him and redeem him a little.

Eh, I'd say sonic dlc is pretty low, think the only one of those characters with a chance is tails. If were lucky, knuckles. I will say that if sonic players are decent, I do have some Level of respect for them.

Yeah, they should at least add Tails or Knuckles.... ; ;, I mean those two have been Sonic's friends since the beginning, and they fight very differently from him too.

The hate started when he was first introduced to brawl.
He's probably the most lazily made character in the entire roster of smash history - excluding obvious clones and semi clones. Most of his moves are the same, and in brawl he was VERY over powered.

Then, obviously, the franchise crashed into a wall and spiralled downhill. Youtubers like GameGrumps played some of the recent sonic games and exposed them for how poorly made they are. Then came Sonic boom... and obviously Sega being Sega they kept up with the tradition of making crappy sonic games on next gen consoles which are full of numerous game-breaking glitches and bugs.

Sonic could have been great, I mean.. I was great.

YES! OMG definitely, especially considering he would be another villain added to the roster. There's so many different ways he could fight as well.

Honestly, I don't think the sonic series even deserves to have another representative in smash bros. Sega is definitely a dying business, and the sooner they run out of money to make games the sooner they stop butchering the sonic series and just let it rest in peace.

the sad thing is that a character like Eggman would make a more interesting character with potenial than some undeserving characters like Jigglypuff. yes he's a nintendo character but really as a pokemon he's kinda meh. lucario, charizad and mewtwo all make sense due to popularity and greninja just got introduced but jiggly? meh. not judging him as a fighter (he's not a bad fighter at all) but as a character. I think a different character shoulda taken his spot a long time ago. my opinion
