Why not a built in trading feature like MMORPGs have?

To help prevent people getting scammed? Kinda like what Everquest had. You select the feature where the text chat and emoticons are. Make it another tab. Player A puts in the item(s) in the window, player B adds the Bells (or vice versa) in the window. Both Select Confirm to finalize the trade. Both players would have their games saved as soon as they select confirm. Viola. It would be a better than people dropping items and bells on the ground.

I don't trade very much because I always feel like I don't trust the other player if they are strangers. Especially if I am trading in THEIR town. I can give them the item and they can kick me out of their town.

I was wondering if this topic should be in the trading board or the general board. I chose the latter because I'm not actually trading anything.

It would be nice, and it would solve a lot of issues that people unfortunately have when it comes to trading. I think it would need to have multiple slots though, like maybe 9 or 16, and it should automatically save the game once both players confirm the transaction. That would save the frustration of losing items due to disconnecting but I'm wondering if people would find a way to exploit that.

i guess so but trading isn't really how they intended you to play acnl
it's more about earning the things yourself legit

I think they intended all trading to be done via retail. It's just that dropping items is much easier. But I agree that would be really cool, but how do you know a scammer wouldn't just put in a piece of junk in place of bells or items?

I think with proper disclaimers this would be a good decision. I could see this going wrong, and with this game being marketed towards kids (I know the demographic is much older than Nintendo thinks) the company would have to take lots of precaution.
