Why my villagers are about to hate me.

I can't time travel right now and I'm bored so I'm in the process of actually landscaping my town. I'm cutting down all my trees and leaving my rock bushes. Then I'm going to lay down brick paths and make it look guuuuuud.
But I'm pretty sure my villagers hate my town now that I have no trees.

Lol, yep. In my first town, I cut down everything but fruit trees. For weeeeeeeks, they called me stump maker. Every. Single. Day.

I'm honestly not sure what triggers it because I haven't been trimming very many trees lately. Maybe space it out to be safe?

edit: Space out like doing planting/gardening/etc. at about the same time so they don't know what rumor to say or something. I'm no expert but doing my trimming all at once probably got me the stump maker title for a while

That does sound reasonable. They'd probably kill me for cutting down those trees but oh well~

I cut down my trees in my old town (I'm still working on getting all of my dreamies before I start landscaping) and no one seemed mad at me

but then again I was at like max friendship with all of them. I think my rumor going around at the time was social butterfly?
