Earth Day is on the 22nd of this month - and they said that it will be coming alongside other new features that we don't know about yet in the Mini Direct, but we still haven't heard anything. If the event is running for a week (which I guess it will be), and if we're getting new gameplay updates (seems like it's going to be the café and the art section of the museum), then why have we heard nothing at all?

Well we shouldn't expect directs or videos about every event. I'm sure sometimes, they're just going to throw in the update that leave it at that, with a little news article from Nintendo. I don't expect them to do anything big unless it's a BIG event.

To call it "missing" may be a bit unfair IMO, because it never existed in NH or promised to be in NH in the first place. Everything shown in the trailers and directs is what we got (short of being forced to wear a hardhat when pathmaking)

We are 3-4 days short of being a month in. On the bright side, we know a lot of stuff, such as the Cafe, are coming through updates. Those of us who are not time-traveling haven't even unlocked the first Nook's Cranny upgrade. As in New LEaf, unlocking buildings will take an extended period of time, which is really only a problem for TT'ers as they may run out of content to skip towards in a day or two. So if things like the Cafe take a month or longer to unlock, then we are so far so good.

We didn't hear anything about this game coming out at all until they announced it. Nintendo is just really restrained with it's information. Be patient. Nothing has ever been missing from this game; people who are of the mind that they paid full price for an "uncomplete" game should bear in mind that they in fact paid full price for what is essentially a subscription service going on indefinitely. I'm not outing anyone here but I find it weird that a lot of people who want everything at once are playing this game at all, since that's just blatantly in odds with it's whole core philosophy. 🤷‍♀️

They said there is somewhat big update in the end of the month. Maybe it's something to do with the Earth day.

Honestly a bit worried about this myself, as I thought they'd have announced this properly today at the latest?

(Although honestly kind of relieved, being in two multiple week-long events back to back would have been even more hell than Bunny Day was.)

I think Earth Day itself is going to be a day-long event at the maximum (and it's potentially going to vary by region, given Greenery Day's a thing a couple of weeks later in Japan, unless it's an event from the 22nd til the 5th), and we're going to get some other features as well like Redd, Brewster and another Nook's Cranny upgrade... but yeah, they're holding off a bit on announcing this properly, and it's worrying.

to add to this point: people should've expected this. In the trailers it literally said "free updates". People should've known that what we have now isnt everything we're gonna get, especially with new leafs track record of the amiibo update. Be patient, thats what animal crossing is about lol

Maybe they reduced the event times because of all the feedback on how long the Bunny event was? Or it could occur on the 22nd onwards.
It's a week away so it'll be out by then anyway, just got to wait and see.

Nintendo likes to release information about new features/ games really close to release date so I don’t expect we will hear anything about the event until either late in the week or next week. This is just how they advertise.

I’m excited to see what is in store for us too!

Possibly a silly question, but is there anywhere I can sign up with Nintendo to get notice of updates? I don't keep my Switch online 24/7, so I don't always find out until later.

Not that I know of, unfortunately. Nintendo's always been 'it's out when it's out' with updates, except with a few select things such as Smash Bros where they at the very least give release dates.

Yeah your not going to hear anything until like at least a week away from Earth Day. Most likely it will be a couple days before we hear anything.

also it will probably only be a one day event.

and yeah they said that there would be other features included in the update but it’s probably smart to set your expectations low. It could be anything from a new series of furniture to the cafe to the art gallery.
