I first got the game because I noticed a lot of my internet friends had bought it. I thought it would be cool to try out the series for the first time. I was instantly transported into a world of friendly people that I didn't need internet to talk to. Sure, they were all virtual, but that didn't stop me from loving them. I quickly developed my town, becoming best friends with Cheri, the peppy cub. She ended up giving me her picture twice, one after getting signatures, and one when she, devastatingly, moved out. Since then I have deleted my first town, and have two.

I really only play it now because it helps distract me from my mental issues (yeah yeah probably something you've heard before). Whenever I'm feeling horrifically depressed, I just have to talk to my villagers and they instantly cheer me up. Landscaping can be tedious sometimes, but I found that it helps with my anxiety. My parents just think I'm playing video games and avoiding my responsibilities, but to be honest, if it weren't for this game, I'd probably still self harm. Sometimes my villagers are the friends I have, but I honestly don't mind that. I'd rather have virtual friends with prefixed words than someone who constantly tells me to kill myself as a friend.

Do you have a special reason for playing Animal Crossing, or do you just play it for fun?

I tried it originally because my boyfriend (who played animal crossing as a kid) bought it for himself and was convinced I'd love it. And he was right :3 This game is full of cute animals, life lessons, and weird dialogue. It allows you to be really creative in how you design the town, your house and the clothes you wear and it has it's own unique set of challenges. I played it so often, he ended up getting me a 3ds and acnl for my birthday. I started my first town, Glendale, two years ago, on my birthday and have been playing regularly every since.

Because of chuggaaconroy and I play any game that involes having to be friend with a zebra

i play it because i like it and when i'm mad it calms me down

also it gives me challenges unlike other games :p

It is a good distraction from stress and real world problems lol plus I love the game in general

I play it because its addicting and I get way too determined to make a perfect town. The satisfaction of a pretty and great town is worth all the painstakingly tedious efforts that goes into it. I like being able to create my own little world.

I just always have, I've played it since Population Growing. At this point I'd feel like I were abandoning the series if I stopped, but that's not why I continue to play lol. I've loved it since I was young, it's always been a relaxing time passer for me. Plus, I always enjoyed seeing the new additions that devs add to the new games. Also, just for a while you're not you. Like, all your problems and everyday stresses of life don't exist for a few hours. Just your character, town, and villager friends.

I play because it helps with my depression and anxiety. My second town also helps me with the loss of my bunny, and seeing all of my rabbit villagers really helps cheer me up.

I just love watching my town grow and slowly building my own little escape from reality. When I'm stressed out, I know I can always play and my biggest problem will be not having enough fruit to collect, or villagers asleep, or something like that. Plus the villagers are nice and the music is cute ;)

I play the game because no matter how awful the real world may be and how much I feel like I don't fit in it, I know for a fact that everyone in my ACNL town will be happy to see me where they wait in a tiny place that's always nice.

Well, my sister had played the games for ages, and at the time I was bored and had some spare money. I had tried out a Wii sims game and found it enjoyable, even iwht it's low quality, so I decided to make the purchase. Despite me playing other games way more on my 3ds, it's my favourite game an i don't regret tyhe purchase.

I have really bad social anxiety/social processing issues and don't really have a ton of friends, plus I have productivity issues, so a game where I automatically have a village full of friendly friends + things to do that make me feel productive like arranging flowers and catching bugs, is really helpful with my developmental disorder and mental illness stuff.
