Why do you play Animal Crossing?

I impulse bought AC:CF one day, and I loved it. Went on to buy a 3ds with HHD and NL. It also makes me feel like I have friends.

I play for similar reasons, villagers make me feel less lonely, and the slow pace and friendly nature of the game help with crippling anxiety. I'm often concerned people will think I'm wasting my life playing or being rude when I whip out my 3DS, but most people around me are really understanding and know that I need certain things to keep myself calm and level, I read a lot too, which people generally accept easier because reading is seen as a more worthwhile past time than video games.
I like how predictable the game is on the whole, it doesn't have half the scary surprises that real life does. Though both me and my mum have noticed that TTing makes me more anxious so I'm trying to get myself away from all that. Plus I back my game up with a powersaves now, because I don't really cope with the unexpected so well.

I guess because it's nice to pass time and I enjoy games where I can do things at my own pace. There really isn't a set goal other than the ones you've set yourself so I like it.

I play animal crossing because on zackscottgame I watched his ACNL playlist over & over again. I really liked the game so I decided to buy it
ACNL gets really relaxing too

Oh, and the villagers look cute.... depends on which ones. lols

One of my friends got it for her birthday and she recommended it to me. I got my own copy after playing on hers for a little while.

In January this year an acquaintance of mine mentioned she was playing AC:HHD and it reminded me of the time I saw the NL advert on tv a few years back. I thought it looked like a really good game but I was in no position back then to buy myself a DS. As I was now in a situation where I could I ordered one the same day with HHD and bought NL a couple of days later.

I don't have many friends so it really helps me to feel less lonely ^^"

My sister played Animal Crossing: Wild World and being the annoying, obsessive little kid I was I played it as well. Since I didn't have many friends growing up at that time it felt really nice to have all the animals talk to me and be kind towards me. I then carried onto City Folk but didn't play it much because we only had one game of it so my whole family had to share the one town and it also just felt natural for me to play it on a hand-held console in bed. When I carried on the New Leaf I bought my own 3DS and accidentaly became mayor of my sister game forcing her to buy another game xD. New Leaf then became an escape- along with the internet. It made me forget any stress and it let me just relax. It made me feel like I was actually doing something worth it, though I knew they were all just NPC's.

I play it because it suits my personality and naturalist interests. It's a game about nature and a celebration of the four seasons and the changes that come with them. It's about good friends. It's about collecting things. About living a peaceful life in a small cabin(if you choose not to upgrade, like me) and helping out your community.

It, like Harvest Moon, is a naturalists dream game.

Because I like communism.
Because it's very nostalgic to me. I've been playing the franchise since I was 7. I also love animals, and I like the customization in the game. Building a town to your liking is amazing.

I play it because the villagers are cute and it gives me somewhere where I can express my creativity and interact with multiple people since I don't know anyone irl who plays it. It also keeps my stress down a little... except when I plot reset or put paths down...

I play it because it makes me calm. It's like another world where I can relax and not deal with the stress of life. That's why I like New Leaf more than Happy Home Designer, it makes it more relaxing living, rather than working, xD.
