Aah, americans make me laugh (i'm not a rascist but they jsut make me laugh)
first of all; the bible .. you people are way too religious over there (yup my opinion)
the Netherlands was one of the first countries to respect gays, and we still do ..
maybe it has something to do that 50% of the Dutch doesn't have a religion or it might have something to do with the Polder Model we've got here ..
anyway, freedom of speech (dang it sounds way better in dutch; vrijheid van meningsuiting) is highly respected here, that's why we're still stuck with the politician Wilders (who made the movie Fitna and couldn't get into the UK because they think he's a fascist..
The difference is, we say; expressing his concerns and calling the problems by their names but you say; FASCIST
(gosh we should've closed our borders when he finally left the country >_< )

Well it started around 1500 when it was accepted here (some of our royals might've been gay back then)
well anyway,
