Why do the 8 and the 0 make the same sound?

this is such a stupid thread and I’m not sure something like this needs to exist, but has anyone else noticed this? On ABD, and maybe when writing letters, you press the “0” it makes a sound that sounds, well like zero. And then you press “8” and it makes the same exact sound?

once again, this probably isn’t important in the slightest I’m just really curious about it, if it’s a bug or what. I can’t be the only one to have noticed but I can’t find anything about it on Google.

Do you play as a male? I hear that all the time with Matty but when I watch a female character being played 0 and 8 sound different (if I’m remembering correctly)

To me, the 7 and the 0 sound even more similar. The eight does sound like a higher pitched zero, but it sounds like it doesn't start with the z?

I'll definitely have to try a female character too, didn't even know there was a difference!

Yea 7 does sound a lot alike 0 too! It makes more sense for those two numbers to sound alike tho

It does! And when you listen closely you can definitely hear the difference between them, where 7 is more like seven and 0 more like zero. Not sure what the eight is supposed to be, perhaps the "ght" doesn't fit the language and they didn't just want it to make an "a" sound?

I just quickly switched genders with a mirror (2020 is wild) and it does sound different! Today I learned, well, that. The same base sounds are still there though.

I do play as a male, now that I know they are different it’s even more confusing

Edit: I’ve checked again and get what people are saying about the 7, although you can very distinctly tell it’s supposed to be a 7. I still have no idea what’s happening with the 8

An eight is just two zeros on top of each other. Zero plus zero equals zero. Makes 1000% sense.
