why do people get rid of ALL trees on club tortimer?

I started playing club tortimer for the first time recently and people tell me that they're "setting up the island" (or I say I want to set up and they agree to help). I assume they're just getting rid of unnecessary trees, bushes, etc. for beetle hunting. however, they end up getting rid of literally everything on the island. no trees whatsoever.

how are beetles going to spawn that way? or is it for something else?? or are they just trolling me? I'm too afraid to ask because I'm shy so I just go with it and we sit there in silence for like 5 mins before I leave lol

I go to the offline island.

If you want trees to regrow (the online island will put them back when you leave) trees, just collect fruit on the tours, then borrow a shovel from Lloid.

Some people do it to make other people angry, I've noticed, so you can't farm bugs. Someone hacked the game and planted some weird looking things near the exit on the island and I could not get out. I lost everything I farmed on that trip.

I'm sorry that happened to you! That's way worse than just chopping trees or digging bushes up. That would scare me, so I'm thankful for that button that lets us leave the island immediately, even if it means leaving bugs and fish. Yeah, that's why I only go to my offline island to fish and bug-hunt now. Too stressful..

oh no, I'm not offended!! I think it's funny because of how I just let it happen because I have no clue what's going on. I'm laughing at myself then haha. I was like, "what if this is just something too smart for me to understand?"

that's awful :[ I didn't even know they could hack in that way?? that's so weird. I think I gave up on farming that way for too long just because of all the connection errors.

if im reading correctly, nothing in the island box dissappears when you use the button. nintendo puts that there to scare the theives.

I just believe they are trolls ive been to many a idland that had nothing on it. No flowers no trees no bushes...heck there weren't even sea shells on the beach.

I would never use the online island for beetle hunting (or any kind of hunting beyond specific items in the shop), unless I joined the island with trusted people. People are jerks and they will either bop you on the head, swing their axe at you, or scare any fish away.
