Winter's Majestic Wolf
think this started back in 2013. One day, a female cat came to visit our house, so me and my dad went outside and fed her. After coming back inside, my two male cats, (Sam and Dean) mainly Dean, started sniffing a little hole in the corner of the front door.
When Sam walked over to Dean, I think (if I remember correctly) Dean started slapping Sam a little bit. That was just the beginning. They started fighting worse and worse after that happened, and now, in the present day, we can't let them both wander the house freely without them starting vicious, fur-flying, blood-drawing fights.
Today we tried to let them both wander the house freely and eat breakfast. It started out OK, all Dean did was sniff Sam's butt while he was eating, and all Sam did to react was stare at him for a few minutes.
A bit after that, Sam started growling and hissing at Dean when he walked even a step towards him. My dad was getting ready to put Sam back in one of our pet cages, but Dean started following Sam around and that led to a vicious fight. This was the first time one of the brothers' fights drew blood.
They knocked over the mini-table, the milkshakes that were on it and they spilled everywhere, on the TV-stand, all over the floor, etc.
A while after that, we decided to make sure that Sam was OK. My mom was cleaning the milkshake and crumbs off of his coat, when I noticed that he had some blood around his right eye.
I don't like having to have one of the brothers in the cage and swapping them out sometimes, it upsets me. Why do the brothers fight so viciously and what started it?
My mom and dad both said it's because they're fighting for dominance and because they both want my female cat (Bella) all for themselves. They also said that if we get the brothers neutered that it might make them stop viciously fighting, but we aren't sure if they will even begin to get along again after that.
We don't want to have to get rid of one of the brothers... Why are they doing this? How do I stop it?
