Why did my Dream address change?

So i went to update my dream world and out of nowhere she changed my address!does anyone know why that just happened?​

If the Dream hasn't been updated in a while, the address will change.

I am not sure why this is done, I have my theories, but that's it, they're just theories.

probably got removed from the database because you hadn't updated for quite awhile. If they didn't clean up the database every once in awhile they'd just be clogged up with inactive towns.

That's Just my theory though ^-^

Oh then I dont know, mines been changed before but I did take a break >.<

I think sometimes it just happens. In my old town, I had a dream that I updated daily and people did visit, but the address still got changed one day. When I search for my old town name via the Dream Suite, both addresses come up.

I think it's so that people can visit past iterations of their towns.

If you search your town, you'll be able to visit your old dream. They don't clear them out. It's pretty cute, actually.

Here are some theories I've heard, or experienced.

You haven't updated in a very long time.
No one has visited your dream town in a long time.
Dream visitors told Luna that they didn't like your town.
You update your dream with a different Character.
You update your dream with a different 3 ds system.

I have 5 towns and have had them changed quite a few times. There was a couple of times that I had no idea why it changed. None of the above had happened. One happened when I updated with my mayor, then again later that day with a different character. Two of my games changed when I gave my son back his 3 ds and had to update on a different system that those two games had never been updated on before.

I was very annoyed when my Joy's address was changed. I had over 1000 visits and was getting about 25 dream visits a day. I think it changed because I used a different character and updated twice that day. I soon had the new address up to 200 visits, and Luna changed it again. There was no explanation for it.
My Critters town changed 3 times. I've no idea why.
