Why can't we order already catalogued event items?

I don't understand why we can't order more of items we obtain from the events. Such as the bug off, fishing tourney and even Gullivar and Gullivarr items.

Because I would love to order more pyramids for my island's layout design. And even some of the other stuff that I had catalogued before.

Its just design choice by developers. They probably don't want people skipping ahead, etc, and just ordering masses of them to give away or sell to other players, since that kinda kills any reason for other players to partake in those holidays or events.

I don't really understand though since with Gullivar and Gullivarr items. You can't time skip in order to get anymore of those items. Since those NPC visitors are random.

They are special items. They’re no longer special when you can order fifty of them.

I did!

If they are the visitor, and you TT forward a day or back, then come back to today, they will still be there.

If you TT to tomorrow and they are your visitor, you can go back to today, then TT again to tomorrow and they'll be there.

The only time they won't, is if it's Monday because that's when everything changes.

You can even go back a few days if they've been a visitor, and they will still be there.

That's what I did with Redd, Gulliver, and Gullivarrr, to get all the items.

They’re fun because they’re rare. This has always been a feature in the series. That’s one of the reasons why decorating in HHD is less fun in my opinion, because you don’t have to earn all the stuff? If you want something unorderable you either need to get it through luck, farm the NPC (which is work and effort so that’s totally fair game imo) or through trading/buying
Then when you have these little accents they make your rooms all the more special!

Well not everyone likes to time travel though. Since I have heard it can break the game if you time travel too much. In a short period of time. So it would be great to order things that we've unlocked from them via our catalogue.

The whole point is that these items are harder to get because it gives people a challenge and something to look forward to. The devs presumably want people to play the game for as long as possible. There's always TTing as an alternative to waiting or buying it from someone else.

I also wish all items were orderable. Whether an item is orderable or unorderable, you can either acquire the item by yourself or buy it from someone else. The only difference is once you acquire one of an orderable item, you can quickly order duplicates of that item. I try to acquire every item on my own because I take personal satisfaction in getting things myself. In the OP example, I think it makes sense to want to acquire your first pyramid by yourself from Gulliver, but potentially doing the Gulliver quest hundreds of times to get multiple copies is just insane. Your only real choice is to buy from other people, but at lot of people selling highly sought after unorderable items dupe or hack them, so I don't think there is a benefit to having items be unorderable.

I'm just glad event items like the bamboo grass are no longer region locked, and are now orderable. I remember having to trade for like 20 in acnl and it was such a struggle lol

Gulliver constantly giving me ugly hats annoys me, but I don't mind the visitor NPC items being unorderable since it makes it feel more special when I do get a decent item I guess lol

Instead of creating a decent amount of items, they've done what they have already done with the rest of the game.

Have an absurd amount of clothes with (drum roll) color variations.

Nobody needs three pirate bandanas, dresses, coats etc. :-/

the way i play this game is pretty much tt'ing and my game isn't broken yet lmao so i highly doubt wherever you got this information from is reliable i wouldn't worry about this aspect if i were you.

honestly if you're really after certain items in the game, i'd look into trading with other users on the forum as has been suggested previously. fastest way to get them if you're in dire need.

This has been a feature of all the games, all items are catalogueable, and only certain special event, NPC or other items are non reorderable. It keeps them special.

I think that them being so rare is what makes them special! :*), I know it sucks if you need a lot of a special item, but you'll get there!! You'll feel really satisfied after you get enough, and finally complete whatever you are working on!
