Why can't people decide?

Another thing it could be. The D*** 10 villager limit. There are so many good ones it is hard to choose 10, and a thread can help decide which ones.

I guess some people are just indecisive and want to hear about other people's opinions. But at the end of the day, it's their choice and it's not like we can't decide for them.

I agree with you. One of the reasons I rarely go to the ACNL Boards anymore is because of this.
People are making way too much pointless threads about what should they do about this certain thing rather than making interesting ones.

Because when two villagers pretty much cut par in your pov sometimes an objective viewpoint helps with desicions?

I don't think it has much to do with what people think of the selection as opposed to how. A lot of people don't take the majority advice in these situations anyway haha.

I agree with you. My thoughts:

1. People care too much what other people think of their town
2. People create threads for the sake of creating threads, almost like a bad addiction
3. They're genuinely really indecisive, and don't have their own opinion
4. All of the above

im just indecisive. even with 5 towns, sometimes i get the urge to switch it up -- like i visited midge the other day and found that i really loved her, but had to decide on either keeping celia, or getting her. and i decided that id get midge because others helped me to do so. i like hearing peoples opinions. tbh i dont see much wrong with it? like, when i was deciding on curlos vs kyle, i asked for help, and then visited him a dream town, and realized i preferred curlos even tho the majority didnt. the majority happened to fall with midge this time around, which was understandable because shes a qt 3.14 (though celia is too)

for me, it comes down to never being able to decide, the 10 villager limit even though i have 50, etc. also holy **** tbt mustve been acting up something fierce if everyone is doubleposting

I don't understand why there are so many threads of people asking 'should I get this villager or that villager' etc, usually of the same personality. Why can't people decide for themselves, it's their game and surely which villager is 'cutest' etc is a matter of opinion?
Why do people try and get the villager that's most popular, why not just the one YOU like the look of?

I understand when people have a themed town and are asking which villager fits best, but otherwise I really do not see the point.

I was certainly worried with a topic much like yours...many of my Dreamies are somewhat "popular" and/or "rare"; I wanted some that, once achieved, it would feel like a big accomplishment. However, I don't want them just because of that; they are actually amongst my favorite New Leaf villagers! I'm just hoping it won't take too long to achieve just one; if so, I might just have to mix them around with just some more common ones that I enjoy.

I personally only care about what I think of my town/villagers. That doesn't mean I won't ask for advice about placing PWP's/landscaping but in the end, it's all up to personal preference.
I usually never ask people about which villager because everyone has a different opinion about what villagers fall into the "amazing," "moderate," and "why" categories as I call them.

I definitely try to stay away from the most popular villagers for the most part. Diana grew on me since she was a day one villager in my first town before I restarted my town, and I always found Skye and Flora adorable.

I like both popular and unpopular. It just happens that my favorite villager is Whitney who is pretty popular.
Most villagers I like because of past connections/experiences in WW/CF or I just find them plain cute/extremely rad.

Yeah of course, I wasn't having a go at people who like popular villagers - just people who can't seem to decide what villagers they like without having others approval

I like to see what other people think, sometimes they can make good points or reasons that can convince you to get someone. I also just like seeing the general consensus on what villagers are well-liked and which are not. I don't always go with the majority vote.
