seriously i have a problem. its kinda hard to have a well rounded set of personalities on my island when there aren't really any smug villagers i want! i was going through which reactions i was missing and figuring out which personalities i'd need to cycle through my island to get them and discovered i already have 3 normals! i couldn't part with any of them either nintendo why! (after this i looked at the full list of normal villagers which was a mistake bc now i want more)
ALSO! having multiples of one personality wouldn't be too annoying if there wasn't so much repeat dialogue (like yes i get it the breeze is great for air drying your laundry but do i have to be told this 10 times a day?)
I really wish Nintendo would up the villager count to at least 12 for this very reason. I'm having a hard time deciding should i get a 3rd snooty or a 3rd normal villager.
I already have two lazies. I talked to one today, then turned around and the other was standing there so i talked to him too. Both said the same thing..."There's my walking buddy."
I have two normals. I find ones convo is better then the other but perhaps I’m just at a higher friend level with one.
My three lazy guys are very repetitive but I just love them! So cute when they run around!
I know right! I love so many of the normal villagers but like I want some variety in personality too :c I wish we could have more villagers and a bit bigger of an island, I want to include everybody that appeals to me :C
I heard that talking to them a few times in a row will give you better dialogue but I accidentally annoyed Gladys by doing that. Most my favorites are normals and lazies -they’re just too precious!! But I’m not letting myself go past 2 villagers with same personality.
It's the worst! Before the game came out I had no idea personalities would be so important. I never paid much attention to it in previous games. So I made sure I had lots of cute amiibos, but they're all normal! I think it's my favourite personality, but still.
As for cute smugs, I think Marshal is the cutest, then Henry. I also quite like O'Hare, Kidd and Shep. It's a shame they're aren't more though as it's a fun personally.
I had the same problem before. I had 4 normals at one point, but I really just had to decide to let one go so I can get all personalities. 3 is also the maximum you can have of a single personality assuming all others are not of the same personality for you to complete all. Also heard that talking to them more will give the more interesting dialogues since they default to the contextual stuff for the first few times you talk to them.
I do love a lot of Normal villagers and I agree that lots of them are cute, like Skye, Maple, Fauna, Gladys, Mitzi, Goldie, Kiki, Lolly, Lily, and Marina to name a few. But for some reason their dialogue are pretty meh and bland in this game... but that's probably just me.
I had the exact same problem with lazies. somehow I managed to narrow it down to 2, and I have literally no idea how I did that.
but if an update came out and added 15 villager slots I would immediately invite in almost all lazy villagers and one jock guy
there are waaaayyy too many good lazies man. what the hell
also I'm really sorry about your normal sitch, normals are ok but they probably have the most bland dialogue that would least reward talking to them multiple times lol. and I know how it feels to not be able to let go of any of your repeat personalities
THIS! TBH if I don't care about variety I could probably make a normal villager island because there are just so many cute normal villagers in the game! (my all normal villager line up would be Lily, Lolly, Poppy, Fauna, Marina, Pekoe, Molly, Goldie, Sylvana & Maple [highly considering other villagers as well as many of them are adorable])
I totally agree! I love the normal villagers and so many of them have really adorable designs but having 2 of the same personality is already too much for me.
Omg I literally feel the same with snooty villagers, I want like another 4 of them, I really wish we could have even just 12 villagers for this game, I already know who I would fit in 2 new spots maybe one day...
i felt this ... i feel like i could make an island completely out of lazy types and normal types because they have so many cute villagers !!
i kind of wish we could have more villagers, like, maybe optionally? like you can either keep it at ten, or you can choose to move in a few more! i'd love this a lot, because there are a few more villagers who i want but i don't want to part with any of my current villagers ): i know this will probably never happen, but i can dream ><
It's so hard to not want more of one personality. Atm I have 2 lazys and 2 smugs. I want to have 2 snootys and 2 jocks too lolol...and maybe one more lazy, but I would love to have all personality types. Ahhh, the struggle is real lolol. I wish we can have a max limit of 12 villagers instead of 10. I think that would make choosing easier...maybe? Possibly? Hopefully...
I really wish they'd increase the villager cap to 15 like in the Gamecube days but make it optional for players.
I'm hoping this will happen eventually but I have a feeling it'll most likely be through paid DLC and much later on.
There are way too many villagers I want that I can't have right now and I feel like running two islands would just burn me out.
I want all my favorites on ONE island.
