So, I just deleted my town Cocoloco after only 3 weeks. I don?t know why but I?m getting unhappy with my town layout so fast and often :/ this happened to soooo many different towns I had. I?m playing this game since like 4 years and I?ve never even attained the perfect town status bc I delete my town before and start over xD sometimes i think the greatest fun of animal crossing is to restart completely new haha. But i really try to stick to one of the towns I?m having now (I have 3!)
Anyone else like this? Also, when it comes to your town map, what do you pay attention to? Any no-gos?

I usually only delete my town if I've been away from it for too long. It's easier for me to just start a new one rather than try to salvage the old one. Plus, the goal of trying to rebuild it again keeps me interested and playing for days, lol.

I have the same problem. Honestly... you just have to get over the habit. Look for a town layout and actually walk around it for a while and actually see if you like it. After a while, if you start noticing small things you dislike, shrug it off. They are just minor annoyances that you can work around. Basically... no town is perfect, I've come to realize this after all these years. Just look for the layout you like, and ignore the small things.

As for my layouts, I just try to find towns where all the structures are spaced out well enough, with a few exceptions. I also try to keep permanent rocks to a minimum, or at least not too many in the way. I prefer my train station to have a brown or red roof, and my town *always* needs to be Apples. Otherwise I try to not let other things dictate me.

This is my current town map (it has been edited but is the end product, hopefully):

As much as I love this layout, it does have its flaws but I've come to deal with them as minor annoyances, like I mentioned above.

- I'm not really happy with the location of my Mayor's house, but I've figured out a few things I can do with it.
- I'm not really happy with the location of the town plaza, but it works out with a little extra effort.

There are a few other minor issues with it, but the two above notes are the biggest issue for me. But, I'll make them work.

On another note, this town is about 3 and a half weeks old.

I’ll try doing that! Maybe it’s a good idea to walk around some more, looking for rocks and figuring out where to place the bigger public works projects. The reason I deleted Cocoloco number 5736 was that I couldn’t place two bridges the way I wanted. I wanted to walk straight from bridge one to bridge two and I thought I was possible but when I finally got the permission to place pwps Isabelle told me the bridges where too close -.- I got so frustrated that I transferred everything to my second town and deleted xD

I?m like this. Except I go even longer past three weeks. I go all the way to perfect town status, build all houses, set up public works, get all my villagers, etc....and then I realize that there?s something with the town I didn?t like and reset.
I don?t know why I?m like This.

I think I like my current town layout...but who knows what happens at the end.

This is the layout:

I Like where everything is placed so far. Except those two villagers up above. And well the fourth house will go next to the other three.

Gosh I love your layout!! Did you edit the villagers houses? Do you have a Dream address? Im tempted to visit :D
Well at least you made it to perfect town status xD maybe it’s our perfectionism that keeps us from sticking with a town forever?

I've never reset Cascades or Chapman, my cycling town, however has been reset probably about 15 times. I just can find a layout that I completely like, the current layout is fine as far as I care (it is just for cycling afterall) but I wish I didn't put my house where I did.

No I did villager plot setting (basically I covered all my town by path and only left Room for them to move where I wanted).
I don’t have a dream address of this town which is Gothica. But I do have a dream address of my older version Achrome. Gothica is sort of like a remake though of Achrome...I just needed to fix some of the imperfections.

The old map is very similar:

Dream address is : 5D00-00D0-3E9F. Overall the theme is the same ...but I’m remaking some houses and rooms (and the characters names).

From a scale from 1 to 10: how much pain was it to cover your entire town in paths and then do plot resetting?
Did you leave trees and flowers?

Actually, I can answer this for them: it's very quick.

It takes me about 40 minutes to place everything down. I leave trees, and move flowers if required. I place the every two tiles apart in all directions, and place 3x3 grids where I want houses to go. Very simple and straightforward.

It’s not too hard, the hardest part is setting paths which takes around 30 min-1 hour. It’s also not paths everywhere. You do one every other space and leave a 3x3 opening on thre places you want villagers to plot. If you leave 10 openings they pretty much plot themselves.

I'm super guilty about redoing a town.

If I decide I don't even like my character's name, I will recreate my town.
I don't get bored with it, and it opens chances to try new things, so I don't feel too bad about restarting so much.

Honestly I'm like this too. I started my new town on the 5th though and I love it though and I'm working around the things I dislike about my town. I dont plan on resetting.

I think when you try to plan out everything from the beginning and when things dont work out, it's easy to get disappointed and give up and reset.
