Who's a Villager You Thought You'd Hate/Hated, But Who Grew on You?

Jitters for me, I used to dislike Jitters but now I don't want him out of my island lol

i never really hated any of my villagers but i guess i wasn't fond of rudy at first. but that was only for a little bit ^^ all the talk about muscles was kinda funny and i started to appreciate his design heh i just wish he had his original house interior ;;

canberra was one of my starting villagers and at first i really didn't care for her but then i started to like her more as i gave her gifts and our friendship level rose. I actually miss her now that she has moved out and I definitely was not expecting that

also Kidd, although I never didn't like him I just was neutral and now he's one of my absolute favorites

Marcel, I was even sad that he was my birthday buddy. Seeing more pictures of him made me love him.

Canberra! I used to hate her design, and if she moved in my town i would try get rid of her soon as possible. But after some time she started growing on me, i love her little sassy smirk and her expressions are funny, she is now my fav sisterly villager alongside Cherry <3

Beardo and Vic.
I love them but when I first met them I wasn't too happy about it lol.
Because of them, I try to keep an open mind about a villager that doesn't automatically look appealing to me.
But to be fair most ac characters look pretty werid to someone who just came across ac in general.

A villager I look forward to trying out someday is Hazel due to how many people have spoken highly of her after having similar thoughts and feelings about her that I had with Beardo. No idea if I will like her... But I am just plain curious now and I think that is the goal with ac impo.

Though I'm not going to do this now, but I think it would be awesome to play ACNH on complete random move ins with no hunting. But I suppose that is what the photo collecting is for
Maybe I'll try that later when I get tired of villagers and the next ac game ends up taking away longer than expected to show.
But I also plan on waiting to get the next ac game anyway and see what others have to say about it it wait until drip feed is done if they do that again.

When I first let Drago move on my island, I thought, “Okay, this guy’s not going to last on my island. I’m not really feeling the alligator thing.” But now I love his chill stoner-like personality and never want him to leave!

Quite a few actually. I found Raymond while island hopping one time and kept him during the Raymond hype around the beginning of NH. I ended up liking him.

Another one was Rooney. I really hated female kangas because of their creepy joeys. However I decided to try Rooney out and liked him. I eventually found Walt later. They are the only kangas I like.

Another I thought I hated would be Jitters. The highly caffeinated bird was a mandatory move in because of...reasons I guess. I ended up liking him.

Bertha was my first normal villager on my island and as I’d never really been a fan of the hippo villagers I presumed I wouldn’t like her and would try and kick her out straight away but she really grew on me, she’s a really sweet villager and while I did eventually replace her it was a shame to see her go.

Rodney, I don’t have him anymore on my island but I miss him so much he is ugly but he reminds me of pugly from Addams family and just looking at his stupid face brightens my days. He is very funny and sassy as well. We used to gossip about Phil.

Bob. I originally disliked him, but once I'd had him in my village for awhile I think he's fantastic.

Recently? Gaston. I initially hated his design, but find his house (specifically in ACGC) to be pretty creepy in a cool way-- kind of adds depth to his character. He has definitely grown on me!

Oh before I liked Cashmere she was my worst enemy, I'd have her GONE if she were to move in my NH island. (I was forced to by amiibo card in NL, but it was impossible to have her by random move-in)

Going back to 2016, when I found out Cashmere would have been one of the 50 villagers to return in the Welcome Amiibo update I was devastated on her comeback and hope she wouldn't have step foot in my town in any way.

For some reason I decided to drink my poison and try her out, turns out she wasn't so bad after all and kept her around for a bit until I moved her out for Diana. Clearly wasn't ready for a change just yet.

Then New Horizons came around and a few months after it's release I decided to give her another shot, and now she's a mainstay on any of my future AC Games.

With the 2.0 update, I was unsure of how I felt when Zoe came back, I mean I knew I could have wanted her but if I did take her on an island hunt I could've wasted a slot if I didn't like her.
After one restart in November 2021 and found her on a mystery island, I have happened to grow upon her and decided to take her on a whim. Boy of boy did I NOT make the fatal mistake, I still have her on my island and quite happen to love her. I would let her go for another Normal villager, but that I am not ready to do yet.

I used to think Coach was rather weird, ugly, and gross. I warmed up to him after he said some funny and silly things, he's been one of my favorites since.

Now I affectionately call him my, "ugly baby", and I absolutely refuse to let him go from one of my towns.

Mine is Freckles. She and I go way back before NH though. I met her in GC and almost wrote her off but I’m so glad I didn’t because she’s a fav to this day.
