I'd only really want this if an update also included some new villagers (esp a new species!) and some better villager interaction. I'm fine with 10 though, villager interactions at this point are so tame rn that I don't see the point.

I think 10 is enough, honestly. I have 40 villagers that would be considered a "dreamie", but I just don't think it would be fun to have more than 10 on my island at one time. 10 homes take up enough space on my island, but I also think it's fun getting to decide who stays and who goes, and this allows me to cycle through villagers and see some fresh faces from time to time
I wouldn't be opposed to it but only under the condition any plots over 10 can be added or removed totally optionally and they didn't impact anything like town rating and stuff. I honestly kind of wish I could knock my villager count down to just 8 sometimes, so I'd definitely get over having 12 plots, for example.
I would love more villager slots if and only if you are also able to take away slots back down to 8 villager houses if you want to. You should be allowed to change your mind on how many villagers you want living on your island. I personally would like 12-15 villagers to help fill up my island and because I just like having villagers!

It won't happen, but I see an appeal to them adding more. It would save me from having to replace anybody and allow me to have all of the villagers who fit the theme of the island that I would want.
At the same time though, the repetitive dialogue in New Horizons makes the 10 villagers feel like too much as it is. While you would definitely see the same dialogue pop up in New Leaf, it wasn't this bad. I've legit talked to Vic and then talked to Kabuki a moment later and got the exact same lines of dialogue in New Horizons, it really takes you out of it. It would've been better if they changed some of the villagers to two new different personalities so there would be no repetition whatsoever if you had one of each.

I would like more villagers and think I can squeeze them in, but a terrain expansion would be nice to go along with it. If they ever do allow more plots (which I doubt), it should definitely be optional.

Two more would be perfect. It would be easier to accommodate all of the personalities and have duplicates of the personalities I love most. My island is typically unbalanced in personalities and sometimes I have to let someone go just to get DIYs and reactions. Although I only have 3 reactions left yay. If we don’t use the extra player houses we should be allowed more villager homes. If one can fit then so can the other.

It's so difficult to narrow down to only 10 villagers, so more options would always be nice. Doubt it will happen, but it would definitely be nice.

I do! As much as I love island hopping, it makes me sad that I have to leave behind so many awesome villagers. I feel like 12 would be perfect for me. Please give us the optional choice to have more villager spaces Nintendo!
