It's technically both correct and incorrect, as I reset my true first New Leaf town years ago to rename the town, but Lucky and Ankha were villagers in my first New Leaf town and then I went out of my way to have them as starting villagers in my remade town. Lucky has been with me in that town for all of these years. Ankha, meanwhile, is in a bit of a limbo situation currently because I got her in my New Horizons to tie into my world history and cultures theme, but I don't like to have the same villagers in multiple games so the plan has been to replace her in New Leaf after all these years. I haven't yet moved her out because New Horizons has been eating up all of my Animal Crossing time since its release, but this fact has also made me consider more deeply whether I should just keep her in my New Leaf town so as not to split up the duo since her house in New Leaf is way better than her house in New Horizons. Then I'd keep Diva as my Sisterly since her Ancient Egyptian house is far superior to Ankha's and maybe replace New Horizons Ankha with Monique or something to fill the Snooty slot.
The other residents of this main New Leaf town have been with me for years as well, but yeah, my good boy Lucky (and maybe Ankha?) have stuck around all this time.
I have Rosie, Dizzy, and Melba to this day they were my starter villagers. I'm probably not going to let them go at all because they mean too much to my town and they're some of my faves.
My town Tinytree still has Pudge as one of the first five that moved in. He wasn't a starter, but I remember being mad that he put his house RIGHT next to my house plot at the beginning of the game. Later I came to love him and I was happy to be his neighbour My second town Borei still has a few starters. Blanche and Phoebe were both among the first five (although I later moved Phoebe with an amiibo) and they inspired me to make a bird themed town!
Roscoe, Rosie and Joey are my Day 1's still in town! Diana was my first move-in (I never realized she was so popular until recently), so I consider her an "original" as well.
My first villagers were rocket and Rory I didn’t really like rocket so he ended up moving out but I’m happy that I still have Rory I like him he’s nice and he fits in on my island
I still have Tom! I was planning to let him go with my other starting villagers at first, but he grew on me and was my first villager to give me their picture, and I just got too attached to him. He's not going anywhere if I can help it.
We celebrate each others birthdays as we are only 5 days apart
