Static! No matter how many years I didn't play in Wild World he was always there...then I realized my cousin never completed Tom Nook's delivery to Static (hence why Static can never leave)
But I'd like to think he stays because he likes it there
(Pro tip make a new character in Wild World and keep resetting so Tom Nook makes a delivery to your favorite character...that way they never leave!)
Is... is this why Butch has never left my Wild World town?? My family members have characters on there that they created but virtually never play/played as... Butch was one of the very first villagers and no matter how much time passes, he never moves away. I booted up my old Wild World town last week as the new game was making me nostalgic, and he was still there, same as ever, calling me "sparkles".
...I thought this was because what we had was truly special. Now I learn it's because he's been waiting on a delivery all these years?
But, actually, despite all that, I associate Savannah with my childhood a lot more and get a lot more nostalgic over her. My first game was GC, but I got it when I was about 5 and didn't play it very much because all the text was difficult for me. Then, I got Wild World when I was about 7 or 8. My memories are foggy but I think Savannah was one of my starting villagers. Either way...
She quickly became my favorite and my "best friend" in the town. I would run straight to her every day, was always catching bugs to give her and loved to visit her house. Then, one day, she moved away... I didn't know back then that you could convince villagers to stay. I was so sad, but then, she mailed me her picture. It was the first villager photo I ever got in an Animal Crossing game and it was so special to me. To this day it's displayed on the mantel of my fireplace in my WW home.
Ever since then, in every Animal Crossing game I played, I hoped to run into her again. But I never did. (And I was never involved with the online community before NH)
But then, shortly after getting NH, I learned she now had an amiibo!! I decided I couldn't wait any longer and bought her amiibo. I must admit, when I first walked in to the tent and saw her, I nearly cried...
