For the older fans of the series, which villager do you have the fondest memories with and why do you like them so much? What game did you meet them in? Share your stories here. 🙂

tangy! my memories of wild world (my first ac game) are foggy since i was very little and also my memory just...... sucks lmao but i remember tangy being in my first ever town and she was the first villager i ever saw and spoke to! i don’t think i kept that town for long since i was always losing cartridges/resetting but she’s special to me just for being the first villager i encountered :3

rosie in city folk!!, she reminds me of my friend who’s been there since 6. she also looks like one of my childhood toys too!

I'd say Apollo, he was in my first wild world town (I think he was, memory is a bit foggy) and he was cool. I really like his design and I remember talking to him alot

i played ww as a very very young kid so i don't remember many villagers except for kiki and lobo! lobo came back to me in new leaf and i also made a new bff (bob) in NL :)) hoping to get some of them back again in NH~

Fang! Wild World was my first and favorite AC game so even though I played City Folk later I never ended up finishing it. But because I have terrible memory I can remember playing the game and growing hybrids and the like but can't for the life of me remember who my villagers were. But when I saw Fang in my campsite I remembered that he was in my original town and that made me so happy to find a little piece of my childhood so many years later 😊

Poppy and Walt, they were both starters in my New Leaf town. They reminded me of my mom and dad; mom was upbeat and sweet, dad could be rough but was always caring. Or it might have been because their houses were next to each other. I kept them in my town the entire time I played New Leaf. I have a Poppy Amiibo card for Poppy, but I never had one for Walt. My wife plays Animal Crossing too, but has never known that I identify those two characters with my parents. She thought I valued them because they were the last original villagers I had. She used the card to move Poppy onto her New Horizons island, and I'm okay with that since she's in good hands and I can always visit her, but Walt's still out there somewhere so I'll keep looking.

Teddy. I was pretty young when I first played WW, so playing AC - which pretty much is text if you interact with anything - and learning how to read/write at the time was a pain, but I loved Teddy regardless. He was one of my starters at the time and something about a big teddy bear just seemed so lovable, he was my best friend. I remember that, one time, he asked to come over and I accidentally set it past my bedtime, so I pestered my mom to let Teddy in my house for me, interact with him for a bit and save the game after he left. My memory is muddled, but honestly, I don't think I have any villager I interacted as much with, as I interacted with him! Unfortunately, someone stole my cartridge a few years after, but until that point, Teddy was still there - and to my surprise, when I got started on a GC town a few months ago, he was one of my starters as well ... and I have him on my NH island now. Never once had him in CF or NL, so I've missed him a whole lot.

Bob and Cookie are the ones I remember the most being fond of in the GameCube version.

Also really liked Scoot and Bluebear a lot back then, wish I had one of them on NH.

kabuki & tutu! i met both in the gamecube version, but i loved kabuki more in wild world! kabuki was just this cute lil cranky kitty and once you got to know him he was really just a softie. i don't believe tutu was in wild world, but i started loving her extra more in city folk <3

My first game was Wild World, at age 13, in 2005. Lobo was the first villager I encountered in-game and to this day still remains my favourite. 😊

Ohhhh how I loved Puddles in wild world.. I thought she was so lovely and cool. One day she wanted to move out and I repeatedly told her not to go. I didn't know back then that they wouldn't give in the same day, but they would just stay anyways. I was so sad she would move out, I restarted the game (yes the whole save file) because I didn't want that town without her... Since I told her like twenty times she had to stay, she probably would've, but yeah. That happenend haha

Kiki!

I'm really sad my first game was new leaf, because I have no doubt I would've loved the older games when I was younger (plus I had the consoles they were on) but even though it was only a few years ago I still get very nostalgic when I see Kiki!
she was the first villager I ever talked to and the reason I ever found this forum (she left my town and I looked up how I could get her back lol)

Static! No matter how many years I didn't play in Wild World he was always there...then I realized my cousin never completed Tom Nook's delivery to Static (hence why Static can never leave)

But I'd like to think he stays because he likes it there

(Pro tip make a new character in Wild World and keep resetting so Tom Nook makes a delivery to your favorite character...that way they never leave!)

Biskit! I loved him so much on the Gamecube and in Wildworld. When I was young I always wanted to get a dog and name him after him! I probably still will. Static is a close second! I loved him in the older games even though he scared me. To me, Static was the face of Animal Crossing.

Scoot 🥺 And he ended up on my sons island, I was so excited. I told him the story of how I’d had him on GameCube... And then my kid called him the ‘diaper head duck’.

Kiki!

Kiki was my first villager too, in Wild World (also Goose and Gaston, but I didn't like them as much). I'm considering trying to get her back in New Horizons but I'm not sure if I should just allow her to live on in my nostalgia instead.

My childhood favorites were Static and Alfonso from the gamecube ver. Static grew on me overtime in a really endearing way. Alfonso was prob #1, though. I was always obsessed with that Mario shirt he had. And he's usually the first villager that comes to mind when I think of the original gamecube version.

Hugh was my favourite villager when I played wild world as a kid! :') The lazy villagers were always my fav and Hugh was the one I got the most attached to, and I still love him! I think he's super underrated, a lot of the pigs are imo, they're super cute with their lil foldy ears and such 🥺

I don't have him in new horizons yet, but I'm hoping I'll get him one day!
