Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle is a game where the eponymous character leaves his home planet, Aries, in search of his father, who was rumored to be alive in a different planet not too far off. This planet has a central theme, but I'll let you figure that out for yourself.

He was unofficially SEGA's mascot in the 80's, way before Sonic. I had to check that fact myself since I remembered him being one of those lame 'potential Sonic' mascots as well (along with friggin' Eggman in a nightgown and about 200 other anthropomorphic animals with shoes...).


I always thought the Alex Kidd games sucked though.

I played it on ps3 and psp, didn't really like the game, but Alex is adorable and I love him in the Sonic Racer games.

Me and my brother used to play the built-in one on the Sega Master System. I've also played one on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. They're ok games but nothing special. Fully understandable that he got the boot when Sonic came along.

Has anyone seen the clip from the SEGAGAGA-game on the Dreamcast? LOL
