This is a question that I've been pondering...there are so many awesome villagers out there, it's hard to choose. Does anyone have any opinions?

See, I think this alone makes it hard to judge. These are new characters.
People want them because they are new and they want to find out about them, not because they're someone's favorite or they are actually popular.

People are paying too much for him. He's great and all, but he's not worth 50 million bells. .-.

Definitely Marshal and Merengue. Julian is close too, but I don't really like him, despite how popular he is.
@FireNinja1: I wouldn't really say overrated...well, Marshal for sure, I suppose. Some people think he is, and I am someone that loves Marshal way too much, but like Shian said, him and Merengue are both new. So is Julian. Personally, I don't really think those villagers' popularity is making everyone love them; it's the fact that they are new and interesting is my opinion on why they cause such a commotion.
I can understand your point, though. c: I'm too big of a Marshal fan, when I really shouldn't be. But I have to admit, he isn't worth as much as people are paying, so I can agree on the "overrated" thing. There's no way I would buy him for over maybe 10 million.

I like this thread. It also has me wondering who is unpopular. I had Velma. I found her snooty and mostly useless. After she developed an attitude, I decided to get her out of my town.
