Honestly I don’t mind either, I love them both so it really doesn’t matter who does it to me. In fact I think it’d be cool if they did announcements together, just to see them interact with each other.
Honestly. My only thing with the announcementS is that they’re boring. I pretty much agree that I wish the announcements would consist of the visitor of the day and other going ons on the island.
I like Isabelle doing them but would like some variety. Maybe switching between her and Tom Nook doing them? Also missing Digby terribly, he was such a cute character! Hopefully he will come with some sort of role in the future.
Right now instead of changing the character who does the announcements what I wish for the most are acutal announcements like special NPCs being in town or even a weather forecast. The way the are right now is useless to annoying, sorry!
I’d like if it was switched up every once in a while or maybe Isabelle took the weekdays and Nook took weekends. Either way I don’t totally get why they don’t announce special characters like other people said. I’m pretty sure this was the expectation they put out prior to the game’s release. Strange, but I guess they wanted the smaller visits to be a surprise? Like I get Celeste and Wisp not being announced and maybe even Redd since he’s a sneaky boi, but Saharah, Flick, and CJ should definitely be getting announcements.
I liked when Tom nook was doing them! My interactions with him were kinda rare in NL because i didnt change the look of my my house that much after upgrading it. It is nice to see more of him this time and have him do more stuff. I dont want him to takeover, though, as Isabelle would have even less to do.
I would prefer for Tom Nook to make the announcements. I love switching on the game and being like "okay what's new today?". Even if there's nothing new I still like the idea of someone welcoming me to another day on my island - but I really would like for this to be Tom Nook. I like Isabelle, but I like Tom better.
That being said, I wish the game would let us choose someone for the daily announcements. I mean hey, some might want for Blathers to do them. Or the Nooklings. Or their favorite villager.
I’m at the point of the game where announcements are about crosswords and tv shows so I have no preference on who does them. I’d just prefer only to have them on days where there is something to announce.
Isabelle is great, but she was so much more interesting and important in NL. Forcing her into Tom Nook’s island project just makes her feel weirdly recycled. The original morning announcements were so charming but now they’re just tedious. As others have mentioned, why they chose to make the announcements mandatory but also program Isabelle to report only about 10% of relevant daily information is beyond me.
