i'm a cat person, so lucky didn't click with me at first, and the whole mummy thing he has kind of pushed me away. but after interacting with him often, i grew attached and he became my favorite. he's the first villager to give me his pic, and he's the the last of my original 5 villagers in my town.

She was who I ended up closest too in my WW town and then I ended up with her in my first NL town too. I honestly can’t even picture having a town without her at this point since she’s been in all of mine at some point or another.

I love how grumpy yet sweet he is haha, and I think he's the cutest of all the wolves. :3
Then, all the villagers in my main town are my favourite. Next two all time favs would be Kiki and Bunnie! I've got a plush of bunnie and it's my favourite thing ever ahhh
I haven't been playing long enough to have encountered a lot of different villagers, but my current favorite is Cookie. I like her personality and she's so cute. Plus, she seems to like me a lot and that always makes me feel good.
Kyle. I either went into the game knowing I wanted all the wolves, or it was just because I had Kyle, Chief, Lobo and Wolfgang all within a week of playing (I had seriously good luck with my starters and campers) that I decided that. But out of all of them, Kyle and Chief have forever been my main guys. Kyle lived the closest to me in my original town so I just went to him the most, and he's so fun and adorable. It doesn't hurt that he's more African Wild Dog than wolf because I further have a soft spot for those lol.
Punchy is my favorite! I had him in my original gamecube town. I didn't play animal crossing again until new leaf, but he somehow ended up being a villager already living in my town when I made my first new leaf town. I have to have him in my town or else I don't feel complete lol.
Roscoe is a close second! He's just so cute and he threw me my birthday party this year
Etoile and Curt are my faves.. but I love Tabby too! I used to favour Kid Cat and Fauna in my town since they were part of my original starting villagers that i fell in love with. But since their houses didn't vibe with my plans, I moved them both out and moved them back in into the right spots via amiibo and while I still love them, it just doesn't feel the same anymore.
Poppy is my absolute favorite. i never thought much of her before, but i got her amiibo card and i put her in my town just from a random pick because i was setting up villager houses in specific spots. when i did that, i was like "wow she's so cute", and normal villagers are my favorite. when i moved her out to put in my dreamies, i felt so bad and ever since, i wanted to put her back in, but i didn't because i wanted to have the villagers i wanted. only recently did i tell myself that she's my favorite villager, and my top dreamie
fauna has to be my absolute favorite... when i had my first acnl town she came into my campsite and she was so cute i had to get her to join. when i got another acnl cartridge she was also one of the first and it really felt like she just came back to me fgjfgkjn
beau and lucky are also my favorites since i had them in my last town but i need to get them back..
Bob has always been my favorite since WW. He was my next door neighbor and the first to give me his picture.

Grizzly is my all-time favorite villager. He was in my first ever GameCube town and I just fell in love with this grumpy old bear. After losing that town (because the game and system belonged to my brother), I couldn't bring myself to play again because it just wouldn't be the same without him. But then I found out about New Leaf and I could move him in via Amiibo. So I got the game and Grizzly's card and he's never allowed to leave. LOL
Also from my GameCube days, Anicotti was my best friend. She recently showed up at random in my spare town, so I plan on moving her over to my main town as soon as I can open up a space for her. I'm excited to have her back as well.
There are a lot of other villagers I love, but I guess I have the deepest connection with those two. They've been my favorites for a very long time.
I just really like Agent S as my number one villager despite having a number two on her helmet. Her cuteness as a squirrel gets me every time. Sometimes, I just want to cuddle her.
Stitches is my all-time favorite.
He just reminds me of a childhood toy that has just had a lot of love.
I quite like his patched-up look and personality as well.
I really like Katt and Tangy. They?re really nice and their personalities are great! Katt is uchi so she sleeps late, is spunky yet fierce, and her house is like a metal rock band inside someone?s garage. Tangy is peppy so she?s super nice and genuine. I have a cat village so my choices are limited to cats, but I still really love their personalities and I?ve had tangy in my village for a long time before I cycled villagers out for my cat village.
I really wish there was a smug cat villager though. They?d probably be my favorite.
in terms of appearance alone, it's marshal. but in terms of villagers i have a personal connection to, it's either mint, poppy, or katt. all three of them were villagers i had for a long time (mint and poppy i still have) and warmed up to to the point where even seeing them makes me crack a big smile.
Cyrano, Curlos, and Bob are my top 3 Cyrano has been with me from the start and he was literally my first best friend. I love his personality. Even though he's a cranky villager he always shows the soft side of him, especially through his letters. Curlos is such a sly sheep, he always find a way to flirt with me and manages to steal my heart lmao (besides Cyrano and Bob ofc ) His letters always have some deep meaning behind them. Bob is so fun, he always has something funny to say, and his letters almost always involve food unless he actually wants to talk with me (which he ends up saying something silly anyway haha). I love those 3 too much to pick one. They always make my day brighter
