I have two jocks and three lazies. Historically, lazy has been my favorite personality type, but the dialogue repetitionin ACNH does get a bit annoying, and their obsession with bugs is a bit much (though sometimes endearing).
For the most part, I started with a bunch of favorite villagers that I had Amiibo cards for, and lazy villagers were overrepresented in that list. I invited one jock, two lazies, and one snooty via Amiibo, and I liked my existing starter jock and early move in lazy, so now I have extras. I had another normal I wanted to move in (Maple), but I wanted more personality types, and didn’t want to get rid of my early move in normal, so I held off. I’m currently missing smug, which is a little disappointing. Right now, I don’t want anyone to move, but perhaps I’ll rotate a few villagers at some point.
One other factor that I didn’t think about too much initially is what time of day I play. I play a lot at night, and while I shifted the clock in ACNL, I haven’t been doing that in ACNH. Certain personality types are often asleep when I play. So it may be worth duplicating the personality types that have late hours, if you also tend to play late at night. (I’ve started trying to play in the middle of the day to get around this issue, but it isn’t ideal.)
Normal and Cranky. I have three normals on my island atm but had four at one stage. Would love to have an all normal island because there are many villagers of that personality type I love!!
Currently have two normals and two crankies on my island and I plan to keep them longer. The dialogues can get pretty repetitive given that they all belong to the same subtype under that personality, but they all have their unique appeals.
My friend has four peppies on her island at the moment and it's so chaotic lol
normal. i know a lot of people find that personality boring but i personally love them; a lot of my favourite villagers are normals and i love their designs the most - and plus, they’re very nice to be friends with aha - my dream lineup will leave me with 3 normals and that may seem like a lot, and i’ll most definitely get sick of the repetitive dialogue after a week, i still love them they’re still my favourite ;u;
I currently have 2 lazies and 2 smugs. Henry and Raymond have pretty much the same dialogue, but there is some variety between Erik and Stitches! I think it's because they're of different subtypes within the smug personality, whereas Henry and Raymond are the same subtype?
So long as the dialogue of your repeating villagers is a bit different, I think it's fine. Also, having 2 of the same subtype is bearable but if I had like, 7... I don't know what I'd do!
At the rate my island is going rn undebatably I'll have at least two smugs, two snooties, two normals, and one of every other personality except sisterly. I am really hoping they add more villager plots bc I haven't clicked with any of the uchi villager's available, but at the same time I want at least one on my island for dialogues sake.
I have three lazies and two normals at the moment. Most of my favorite villagers are lazies and smugs with some of my new favorites being multiple normal villagers. This AC actually got me to really enjoy the normal personality more than I ever have.
I have 2 jocks 2 lazies.... I dont like repeating personalities in this game because of how awful dialogue is, but once I get all the emotes I'll probably get more lazies cuz they are just so cute.. even if i have to hear about bugs and dirt every waking moment I love lazies so much
I have two lazy and two sisterly villagers on my island. One of the lazies needs to go (hearing the bug talk from one villager is more than enough) but I'm planning to keep both of the sisterly villagers for a while.
Probably normals, peppies and snooties. I know a lot of people think how normals are plain but I love them the most. They're very sweet. I also can live with 2 peppies. I think they say the funniest things out of all the personalities and it's always entertaining when I talk to them. I just like snooties that's all lol/
I have two normals (at some point I had four..) and two snooties, because I like those personalities the best. I also like uchis, but can't have 11 villagers
I'm okay with repeating cranky, snooty and normal villagers.
I plan on getting a second lazy, but because my favorite villager is lazy, I might end up replacing the second lazy with a snooty or normal villager.
currently i have 3 lazy, 2 cranky and 2 snooty villagers. i'm okay with having 2 smug, 2 snooty and maybe 2 lazy villagers as a final lineup once i collect all reactions and diys. altrough when it comes to lazies i'm unlucky and constantly end up having 3 of them on my island and at this point their dialogue about bugs drives me nuts so i might just keep 1 in the end.
I'd say Normal or Peppies!!! They are my favorite and they bring so much life and kindness to my island I just love it.
Also, I couldn't get enough of the soft voice normal villagers have...
tbh any except jock. so repetitive. literally every conversation is muscle and work-out related. at least with other personality there will be little variations. like lazy it alternates between food, sleeping & bugs.
