I'm seriously thinking about getting a new game cartridge and starting afresh in June. If I were to, I'm having trouble deciding on a town name. Here are my options:

Seacrest: This is the name of my current town. There's an estate in my county called Seacrest and I feel like it really sums up what I envisaged my New Leaf town to be somehow. It find it quaint, humble and natural.

Salthill: I live near an area called Salthill. It sounds funny but it's beautiful. There's a long stretch of promenade along the coastline. You can see the hills across the sparkling bay and you always bump into friends and neighbours walking along it. There are also loads of shops, including the world's greatest coffee place and ice cream parlour :P

Scariff: This is the name of the town where my father is from. It's a really beautiful rural town. Everyone there knows one another because it's so small. Beyond the village is a hill we have a bungalow home on. From there you can see half the county, lakes, fields and hills as far as the eye can see. Further up the mountain are lots of little woods and greenery. It's very peaceful and beautiful, yet you know that family is always close.

Carragh: Meaning 'Hill' in Irish. Pronounced Carrah, with short 'a's. This is the name of another estate in my county. Its a small area atop a very small hill, with trees, a green and lots of memories.

Let me know which name is your favourite and why :D I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, what is your town name and why did you choose it? :)

Seacrest is nice, although it makes me think of Ryan Seacrest...

I quite like Carragh too, it's unusual.

I voted for Seacrest, although I just realized it reminds me a little too much of Ryan Seacrest. :/

I would go with Scariff or Carragh. They're beautiful and unique ^^

I voted for Carragh because not only is it a really unique name, but I think the memories you have associated with it will make it more meaningful as well. However, I think it's important to decide the general theme of your town before you decide on a town name, because if you want a more beachy, tropical town, Seacrest or Salthill would match your theme better than Carragh would.

My town name is Auburn because it's going to be an autumn-themed town with lots of beautiful red, orange, and yellow flowers. :)

I have to say I'm not a fan of "Seacrest". Because of:

I already voted No in the last poll, what's all this then
I like Seacrest, it definitely makes me think of American Idol tho...
My town is called Bueno if you'd like to borrow that.

I think it would depend on what you want from your game. I think Seacrest sounds the nicest, but the fact that it's your previous town's name would make me want to shy away from using it. Salthill sounds a bit... I dunno; makes me think of a mining town. With Scariff I keep thinking it would be a Halloween themed town. I like Carragh; it seems like a nice quaint green hillside meadow.

I named my town Mythton, partially because I wanted to make up my own town name and not use an existing (neither fictional or real) town name, and I thought to try to make it themed more that way, though I eventually decided against a fairy tale theme. (but it's still a fictional world, so Mythton still fits.)
