I would go with map #2 because all the buildings are in one spot by the stairway to nook's, train station etc. It looks more organized and easier to get to.

Yeah, I like Map 2 best as well for that reason. And while there are quite a few lakes, you have plenty of room to work on PWPs down at the bottom. You could make a whole luxurious area.
I've decided I didn't like any of them. :\ It's sad, they all had atleast 1 thing I liked about them.
Here are my reasons:
Map 1- I liked how the buildings are near each other, but it looks kind of messy, and if I put paths, it would be sort of difficult because a house and a pond is sort of blocking Retail. I also like how there's a huge "private" beach
Map 2- It's super convinient since both the town hall and Retail is near the train station (but it's difficult when you're beetle hunting). Also there are way too many ponds. And villagers seem kind of cramped.
Maps 3- It's so similar to my old town lol.
Map 4- Everything seems so cramped. I don't like the pond infront of the entrance. And Retail is trapped by houses and ponds.
