Wild Wild World and New Leaf are pretty tied for me. I haven't played Wild World in years but I still remember every tune, but New Leaf is my favorite by far.

Wild World is the most nostalgic for me, but it has a great variety and hourly music songs actually feel different from one another. Plus they use different instruments and sounds for each one unlike NH where it all sounds the same.

Wild world purely because it was the first AC game I played and I have so much nostalgia associated with the soundtrack!!

Finally I'll never get over how obnoxious the 8am music in New Horizons is. Who feels like this music feels at 8am?

Oh, that feels so much like 8 AM to me after spending a year getting up at 5 AM to go and teach a bunch of elementary school kids.

Honestly, I think I like the New Horizons music most. I like almost every song in it. I love New Leaf's music, but there is something really good that just hits home to me with New Horizons.

i only played wild world a little so it’s hard for me to remember the music very well, but i love the new leaf music! something about it is so nostalgic and perfect for me

Wild World, but New Leaf's was excellent as well. The other 2 games don't even come close imo.

New Leaf all the way. It is my all time favorite video game music of all time. I love how all the hourly music for it is peaceful and some sound like the main theme more than others. New Horizons is too upbeat and jazzy (don't get me wrong I love jazz) for an AC game. The hourly music all sounds too similar and not as relaxing and enjoyable to me.

I like NL’s relaxing music, but WW’s/CF’s music sounds nice and upbeat as well. NH is ok though, there’s some good and bad hourlys.

I really miss new leaf's music! And the gamecube opening is always stuck in my head. I don't like new horizon's music very much at all, other than the opening.

New Leaf has the best music, imo, but unlike many here I believe NH is close behind it. I think the reason most don't like NH's themes is that 1) it strays a lot from the older themes and 2) it's still new. New Horizons' music will probably take a lot longer to be loved, but I think the fanbase will eventually come around.

Imo, 5am-12pm are all fantastic themes. It's a new sound for animal crossing but it definitely fits island life. I will admit that they dropped the ball a bit in the late afternoon. 1pm, 3pm, and 4pm are just average. But from 5pm onward i think all of the night themes are great. Another hot take: 2PM is great, fits the hour really well even if it's a little bit intense.

As for the other games, I haven't played them enough to have a valid opinion but I think they're pretty much right in line with the newer games. All of the games have great music.

I like New Leaf's soundtrack, followed by Wild World
Sounds home-y and cozy.
New Horizon isn't terrible, but there's something about it that makes me prefer the previous games

Overall, I think I enjoy the gamecube tracks more. Might just be nostalgia factor, but hey. There's never gonna' be a better 2am hourly track than the gamecube version!

Gamecube for me. Out of all the games, it's the only soundtrack that has stuck with me, and I can still remember being up at 3am waiting for that tune to play :+)

The evening/night/late-night hourly music from New Leaf was so fitting for its intended time. I loved fishing around this time specifically for the music.

I especially love the creepy music at 4:00 AM. It’s a very clever word-on-play in Japanese with the number 4
