I just unlocked the public work projects yesterday and I'd like to place a camp site.
I have no idea where to place it though. Where have you placed your camp site? And where do you think I should place my camp site? Click here to see my town map. :)
Any tips are appreciated :D

The X marks the spot seems a good spot. You can cover the area with Ceder trees.

I wanted to do that, but unfortunately there isn't enough space there. I already thought of placing cedar trees around it, that seems like a pretty good idea. :) I'm thinking of placing it in the area under the X, below the river. There's enough space to decorate it but I think it might kinda ruin the landscape when there isn't a camper. What do you think?

Actually it could still work, surround it with perfect fruit that is native in your town. So even if there isn't a camper it is still hidden away.

Firstly, I have rotated your town map and then resized it, so I could look at it much easier. You can find the new version here.

Secondly, it's such a coincidence that our maps look so similar (atleast, the left and mid side) ^^ and that I also started a thread just like this one not too long ago. Thanks to that and the wonderful people who tried to help out, I can pass their advice on to you.

Let's start with finding a spot. I marked three spots with an "X" in black, red and blue. I will further discuss them below.

X (black)
This spot has already been pointed out. I have a similar piece of land and just like you, my first intention was to build the camp site there. Once Isabelle showed me how it looked like, I saw how cramped the area will look like, not allowing many trees to be near and mainly the friggin' train track right behind there is urgh. I am still not sure whether I will build it there, but I bet you won't.

X (red)
Then this spot would be my alternative, and also my alternative to you. There is plenty of space to build here, plus it's a somewhat secluded area. You could plant some trees around and plant the same type right above it (on spot X) to fill there too. I was thinking perhaps a log bench PWP would look really neat there or some other camping-themed PWPs too.

X (blue)
This spot and up (closer to the train station) is an idea my boyfriend had. The area is also bigger, allowing more things to be build. Maybe not ideal (could be in the way of paths), but not so bad either.

Other stuffs that I found useful:
One thing you haven't mentioned is whether you are thinking of any other PWPs to go along with the campsite. (..) But if you are thinking of adding a fire pit, picnic blanket or any other PWP you will want more space. Then I'd drop down below the river I think.
(so on X)

(..) What I would do before building it is plan out that area eg. mark where the campsite would go and then figure out where you want the trees, flowers, and maybe other PWP's. It will give you a better idea of what it will look like when it's complete.

(..) Instead of holes to mark the spot, you could place patterns. The advantage is they would stay around longer while you are deciding:) Good luck!

These are quotes from my thread, you can find all of the tips and replies I have gotten here.

I am glad that I am not the only one in this dilemma right now. Best of luck in chosing, Barbara
