I placed mine by the private beach so I could have it in my backyard! Of course, this was before I knew Redd would dock there lol. I'm not changing it tho since he shows up so infrequently.

Top left of my island. I have four houses on ground level and six on a cliff.

I prefer a functional town so I keep my home right near the shopping area, and villager homes surrounding Resident Services.

I have mine up on a cliff against the ocean. There's not a chance in hell I would be able to afford a cliffside house in real life so I might as well fulfill this goal in a game.

Thanks for all of your responses! I redesigned my residential area a bit so now my villagers are all ground level and my house is on the second level right behind them. Still close but with space for a personalized area. :3

I put my house literally a few steps/squares from the beach, because I want to live by the beach one day in real life! I also have my residents in 3 clumps, so Diva and Judy live right by my house/the beach too.

I considered putting my house literally on the beach, but ultimately settled for the grass right next to it. I actually have not moved my house at all since the beginning of the game, and dont plan to ever move it.

I'm at the southwestern corner, right above the airport. Most of my villagers are spread out (though closely) throughout the middle of the island, and then off to the right. I also have a special area I've titled "Beverly Hills" which is just above the river and the main villager houses--and these 4 villagers are a bit more sequestered from everyone else. But I love it.

I made a residential area for all my villagers. The highest cliff has Moe's house and Tom's house and across the bridge from them is my house.

I have a gated community surrounding the top and left side of my resident services. My house is in the top left corner and my villager's houses are beside mine on the right and below!

My house is at the very middle of my island. But will probably relocate when I'm done with my full layout. I'm planning on having a 2nd character...

My house is as of right now just randomly pushed to the side. Where I'm planning to move it to is probably going to be the last section of my island I decorate, so it'll be there for a while as I move at a snail's pace. But eventually my plan is to have it in the northwestern corner... on the third... level.... because... I'm.... sooo...... basic and can't think of anything better.

Mine is over by the middle of the south beach of my island. I was thinking of moving it, but I honestly like the convenience of having it rather close to the airport. For fun, I'll also add where my boyfriend put his house because it was honestly really funny when I first saw it: right in front of his airport. Even more convenience!

The villager houses are on two horizontal rows going up and then our house is on the topmost level.

I'm up in the northwest corner, on the cliffs. It's the only house on elevated levels. My villagers are in 2 neighborhoods below, in the middle section. I like having the seclusion, but because there is a path, someone is usually wandering around, so I'm not complexly cut off.

On the Beach, I have some houses on the beach as well, and some on the land.
