Where do people store their extra DIYs?

everywhere
on the beach, in my house, in the middle of my island
yeah my rating isn't that great lol

I store them in my house at the moment, going to leave them in there till I get more lily of the valley, after that I am just gonna leave them everywhere on the island!!! lol

I put them inside my home to not lose island rating...after several weeks I sure miss seeing the floor, siigh...😥

My house is sectioned off in a mini island, so I keep only the valuable ones around there. I feel the same way about not being able to store them... it feels weird. :T

my beach is the DIY containment zone rn >:( its annoying because i was getting jacobs ladders until then lmao

Do the DIYs sitting stands count as clutter?
Yes, unfortunately.

My house is still a hot mess of every piece of furniture and rug I can fit in it, so I keep extra DIYs on the floor. When I play with friends or have people over I put extras out for people to go through, but I periodically sell any basic ones like leaf umbrellas or others that aren’t worth keeping because everyone has them (like the extra Bunny Day ones).

You know what, I should just start doing this. I have quite a few DIYs people don't even want for free. I'm sure I'll end up with them AGAIN at some point. :d Might as well make some bells. Not sure why this thought never crossed my mind until reading your post haha. I didn't even register this as an option until now.
Sell those leaf umbrella and clothesline DIYs and be free! Ish.

Luckily, I've got a second town that I use as one large storage. I've literally flattened/removed everything and divided the island into squares - each square with a letter design inside, so I can find everything quickly. I wouldn't be able to keep track of them otherwise, and I have no idea what Nintendo was thinking when they decided that DIYs can't be put in storage.

i collect like 20 recipes and just throw them on my beach.. rip i'll never get pass the 4 star rating LOLOL

I sell them to Nooks unless it's something valuable or sought after (my villagers keep giving me the garden wagon, lily record player and zen-style stone lol), for which I set up a trading thread when my basement starts getting full. I literally upgraded my house to have a basement just so I could store DIYs lmao

jealous! no one's ever making the garden wagon on my island :(

i have them dropped in 1 spot in town right now (only like 3 diys) or i sell them. I might just sell them tbh

I used to keep mine by the entrance but didn't want to mess up my five stars anymore, so the basement it is
once that is full I sell the more common ones to nook, the rest I keep to give away or trade/sell

i think 15 items laying around is the limit before a star drop but unsure.
I'm actually not sure of that myself. I just place them on the stands to make it look like they are for sale in the "marketplace" I have set up. I don't know what the numbers are as far as how many you can have laying about before your rating starts to take a hit, nor if placing them on something enables them to still be counted as clutter. I'd assume "yes", however, since I'm 'dropping' the item on there, rather than 'placing' it.

I ask my brother if he has the DIY first. If he does, I sell them. If he doesn't, I leave them outside his house.

house/entrance floor until its like 20 diys then i just vendor them all

if im not lazy ill store them in a mule inventory/secondary house but I'm working on decorating rn soo

Mine are on my kitchen floor right now. I think tonight I’ll move them outside so they don’t affect my happy home rating.

I place mine on the beach, I don't want them in the house and I think it's the best spot where nobody gets bothered by them. I still hope for an update where you can put them in the storage.

I'll probably put the best ones in those market stalls, I'd prefer to just put them in the storage but since that's not possible I don't just want them laying on the ground.

Mine are in my basement. I don't have a use for that room yet, so I just put them in there. I try to trade and give them away when I can, but they pile up very quickly. I'm thinking of selling my bamboo DIYs because nobody seems to want those and I have so many duplicates.

I try to trade my extras for DIYs on my wishlist through Nook's Cranny. Sometimes I'll also participate in take one leave one giveaways, or bring DIYs as tips for people I'm visiting!

When I'm not using them, I've stored them in my basement, which has essentially become a bug storage/DIY storage room.

Wish we could put them in our actual storage though.
