Hey, I was looking to buy an SNES sometime soon, because I enjoy collecting old games. Does anyone know of a good place to buy one? I don't really trust E-Bay, so if you can, try to post another place.
Well, you can always try pawn shops or used game stores, but that might be unlikely.
Amazon is a reliable place to buy one, but it'll cost at least fifty bucks, eBay is generally the same price range, but I got a used one off there for thirty.
Those generally work fine, and you can play both NES and SNES games, but they also don't play certain games on it. Assuming you're American the games it won't play are:
And just to clarify, I bought a FC Twin(similar console) before and the system itself worked great, it just didn't play certain games, so if you don't care about those games then I definitely say go for it, it'll be brand new to boot.
That used to be true, but they're getting less and less common now and people that have them are less willing to let them go since it's a limited supply, the best bet is online or specialized stores.
depending on where you live, if your close enough to seattle(prolly unlikely) but if u ever get there there is a special store that still has brand new snes's! i was amazed by it. the guy still has a ton of them, plus he has tons of games as well, some still brand new. they are spendy as hell tho but that is normal of course haha
There's a lot of used game shops around where I live (college town). At one, The Exchange, they always have at least one NES and SNES (along with other systems from the 90s) used for sale, and they always check/repair them before selling, obviously. Try doing a search online for used game stores in your area~
if it plays the game and you get it for a decent/cheap price, you really have no room for complaining... if you ask me. if you want a fancy/new one, g/l finding one (for the same price, definitely)
also dustybentley, a friend of mine went to a store similar to that once... maybe called game over or something like that? I dunno, it was up in dallas and he took a bunch of pictures of all the old gaming stuff... I wanna say there was a R.O.B., and a bunch of old games/game memorabilia... I haven't been there, but it sounds like an awesome place, if your store is similar
