When you just want to quit

When a Dreamie moves out, plot resetting goes horribly wrong, and having a crappy town. Pretty much the reasons why I abandoned my first cartridge for a long time.

Also trying to do the diving reset trick, especially if you can't get a suggestion within an hour. Really, really annoying to put up with.

void villagers moving into spots that ruin everything
plot resetting taking two days
all the bamboo i have to dig up every 2-3 days
getting bored overall
running out of ideas with your town

i still have two unfinished towns pls send help

I feel ya. I also have two unfinished towns and I'm not the most creative person in the world... I don't have a theme and I just feel they will end up looking the same, boring ol' towns just with different villagers

I can't finish my town layout because of anxiety due to permanent structures alongside villagers moving in the way of where I want to place stuff. And then I can't even TT them out confidently because I have a few villagers I don't want to lose.

I've had times when I don't play Animal Crossing for a few months. I've never actually quit forever, but I'm considering it.

Its for the exact reason you said that i wish i didnt care about my villagers like i used to in the previous versions of the game, made life so stress free and i just played to play, not to maintain order and get ocd over a game, I know what you mean, usually when that happens and i get tired of waiting around to either be pinged or here the rumors that no ones moving i save and quit and try again later

After playing New Leaf for so long, I've almost forgotten that they just moved out without saying a word in the Gamecube version.

But yes. That. I took a break for several months, I went back to sometime in late July, thinking I had stopped early August.. and Purrl moved out. At least it was "just" Purrl and not someone I'd have to spend an insane amount to get back, like Diana or Marina. But it still meant cycling out another 16 when I have several of my dreamies already, or just picking a different snooty cat that fits my color theme. So Olivia it is. I loved her in the GC version, I just wanted someone different.

I haven't had a PWP suggestion in literal months. I play for hours for each day now because I'm trying to get some of the badges. I go out of my way to go around town and in front of my villagers. I have tried the diving trick with no items on me, and instead villagers ping me to ask about their catchphrase, or to assign me a new nickname (really, you're going from Honeybun to honeybun? stop that). Never PWPs. Never.
There are so many things I still want to have specifically from Normals and Uchis, and half of my town is Normals and Uchis, most that I don't even want to keep, just waiting for them to give me new PWPs. And nobody ever does.
Nintendo. Nintendo I will pay you real money to not make this a feature in any other AC games ever.

Grass deterioration. ****ing grass wear.
I have paths down. I have had paths down everywhere I walk regularly since January, 2014. It is now late February, 2015, in my town, and still, I have grass wear outside of my paths. Places I put down flowers, watered regularly while I was playing, everything the internet said would help. And then I finally skipped ahead from July to February, thinking SOME of it would go away.
It's just as bad as it always was.
How do you even fix it.
Do I need to TT to 2020 next time someone says they are leaving, and then TT back to the normal day. how fix grass. ;_;

A good technique to stop villagers from moving when you don't intend to play again for a while is to have one ask you whether or not they can move. If you say no you can save and quit for as long as you want and no villagers will move out until you play again.

lack of space to stroll around with friends and the fact that there isnt much to do with the villagers rather than just give them stuff and stare at them xD

Aw

I hope everyone finds motivation to continue playing. :) This game encourages randomness and imperfection. Even if your town doesn't look the way you want, or things aren't working out, your hard work shows and your town is great the way it is. When New Leaf gives you lemons, you make lemonade

I guess for me, it's the same. I don't have much time during the day to play it.
So, I miss days. Sometimes weeks. The only time I have to play is at midnight or later, because
I have to watch things during the day. I have people/animals to take care of, and my dog is sick right now.
So, she needs extra watching. She's getting better, now though, but I don't like being invested in a game and having to drop it to do something else real quick.
Which is why, I haven't really had a town for months, now.
Plus, when I forget to plot reset or I don't want to, and a villager I really, really didn't want moves in.

For me it's the villagers moving in randomly, that really bothers me because if I have hybrids, mushrooms, or paths in a certain area, they're always open to get squashed/removed. I don't know if/when there'll be a new AC for the DS but that is something I'm hoping they change. (I propose, Isabelle gives you a warning a day in advance that a new villager is moving just before you get into your town. Then you can go down to the Town Hall and perhaps get a chance to select a building spot for the new villager, but if you don't by the end of said day then they will move in freely. This would give people a little more control/peace of mind when building their towns.)
