When is it time to reset

I think layout is really the only thing that people reset for.
Villagers can easily be cycled out.

If your town map is messy and has lots of space that is too crowded to use, you might want to reset.
My friend is resetting her town because her map is really weird and her re-tail and town hall are really far apart. She played on the map for a year and only now decided to reset.

As soon as you feel exhausted and unhappy! Reset! It will always be okay! That first sign means that you need to do it!

If you don?t like your town layout, it?s the best to reset, so go for a fresh start. Good luck finding a map you enjoy!

I was unhappy with my layout, I stuck with it for a while. I recently reset my town, and now I love my layout! It is okay to rest, or turn over a new leaf!

(That was a pun! Get it, because the game is called New Leaf!

I think resetting helps some people enjoy the game longer. They like that fresh new start.Others reset because they hate their map. I have 5 games and can't bare to let them go. I guess that's why I have 5 games.lol. If I could only have the one copy, I think I would just get new villagers and completely redecorate when I got bored.

If you're unhappy, you should.

Basically this.

The minute you don't like something in your town, I pretty much say that you won't stop thinking about it until you reset.

I kind of agree with what a lot of people are saying here in that if you are no longer happy with your town, then you should consider resetting. Just remember that resetting is a permanent decision, so think carefully whether you might miss your town before you reset. Also, consider if you really want to invest the time necessary to build a new town. You'll have to get PWP requests again, and you'll have to rebuild your catalog, your museum, get your dreamies into your new town, etc. This doesn't even take into account map resetting which can take a long time depending on how picky you are.

My advice would be that if you are so bored with your town that you hardly play the game anymore, then maybe you should reset. Otherwise, it might be better to try to find a way to make the best out of the town you currently have. It can be a rewarding experience to make a beautiful town despite not having the best layout. If you feel split down the middle with your decision, you could buy a second copy of the game to have it both ways.

Guys I reset and I want to thank you all. My layout is amazing now. My plaza is directly in the middle and the river forms a U. I want to thank you all so much.

As the others have said, it's okay to reset. It's your game. If you're not happy, reset.
Personally, I don't feel I'lll ever reset as I've wasted to much time on my town. However, if I had an awful layout I'd consider it. I wouldn't reset over villagers all they can be moved out.

Congrats. I really like the sound of that layout. I think it looks nice when mayors place their home in the middle of the 'U' formed by the river.
