When/If AC comes out for the Switch...

In my experience being in the online AC community in the lead-up to New Leaf being released, having a new AC game on the way actually seemed to excite the community into wanting to continue playing in their old City Folk/Wild World towns up until the release of New Leaf. It was just after the release of New Leaf when people put down their old games and towns :P I hope something similar happens again, and that the announcement of AC switch will excite the community and get people picking up New Leaf again who might have been taking a hiatus from it.

ETA: I responded to the wrong thread lol, I meant to do the "Will you abandon this game when..." thread. But I agree with a lot of people here about this thread topic. I would love more design storage, I want more town viewing angles (ie. turning different directions), more character and town customization, new plants, etc.

I gave up Wild World in 2009, and only got NL in February last year.

I had an 8 year break, but I was pleasantly surprised by (most of) NL. ^_^

I was playing Wild World hardcore in the lead-up to New Leaf, but then, I was pretty invested because I started a new Wild World town and began blogging about it in 2011. I still like to pick up my old Wild World town from time to time, but it's always been hard for me to focus on more than one town at once, unfortunately!

I'm glad you picked up New Leaf and enjoyed it, after enjoying Wild World 'back in the day' :) (depends on your perspective of 8 years!)

I had the same WW town for 4 years, and a few other towns on spare games, plus my son had 2 copies.

My list of wants for Switch:

1: Able to send mail to friends in other towns without vising their town

YES!!!!!!!!! I have wanted this all throughout NL, I would love if they did this! also let me attach fish to my letters

We see this trend with every AC game (not sure about spin-offs but with the main franchise aside from PC. You saw it with WW and CF, and with NL and PC (or WW and PC - in my case :p), and even WW and NL. So I wouldn't be surprised if the sales go up with the predecessors when an AC switch is announced. People want to occupy their time with something alike while waiting for the new to come.

Also would like to add a feature:
The ability to set a date for a villager to move in or out. As many don't have room for a villager, especially in the campsite, and have to wait for camper to show up again when they have room or try and get the villager from another game. Also, if someone wants a villager gone from their town, when they ask to move, they can set moving date to the next day instead of waiting 10 days for villager to finally move.

? Removable rocks
? More PWPs
? Unlimited design space
? An ordinance to prevent villagers from moving in and out when you are away from your 3DS
? Controlling villager house placement
? More islands to visit
? More bugs, fish, fruits, and flowers
? More PWP shops like Roost Cafe (restaurants, arcades, amusement parks, etc...)
...and there's more but these suggestions are good for now! :)

I would want the town and sky to be more viewable from your screen. For characters to have more personality like they did in the original gamecube game. There to be giant patches of clovers again. For you to choose your own skin color. Seamless loading time between screens. There to be 3 levels of earth again, More weather effects, more sandbox feel, tools to be always equipped and not occupied inventory slots. A villager or villagers living at the island again.

I'd just highly appreciate it if there could be the possibility to create more than just one town. :o Like three towns if a limit was necessary.
Being able to remove or at least move the rocks would be neat as well.

omg all these ideas sound so cool :O man I hope some of them become cannon, I like the idea of having new shops , especially a video arcade sorta like the did in the gc version.

now mine are a bit less cool
-bring back the exercise thing in the plaza from the gc version
-not be localised so all the events are celebrated and the items art impossible to get if you don't come from or have any friends from another region
-the ability to design pants and skirts
-more hat options
-the option to be a non binary gender or at least not have different dialogues weather male or female
-with hairstyles have all the masculine & feminine unlocked from the beginning
-more options when designing clothes
-have more cross franchise items, like a hatsune miku wig, poke balls (as furniture),
and finally, i think it would be lit to have cat & bear ears as an item. --we have a duck beak so why no cat ears ? XD

i’d love if the town was bigger, villager dialogue was more interesting, inside of buildings were bigger and more detailed, and long hair (all of the hairstyles are short ugh)

a lot of people have really cool suggestions something my sister said would be fun is if you could send mail to your parents. like mom sends you paper to be pen pals but you can't send anything to her

I would make it so mail could be disabled.

I can't stand it.

That sound of the mailbox, and the neverending dumping of shirts via mail as well as being assaulted everywhere else.

i would love to see more hairstyles as well as longer ones for girls. personally i have very very long hair and i would love for my character to have really long hair too. I honestly can't stand the only two long-ish hairstyles that are available so my character always has her hair up in a bun.

Not to mention more interesting dialogue, maybe a tool box to carry everything around in instead of my letters, a bigger map, and lots of other things. I have countless things i would add but those are a selected few i can think of.

- easier to unlock pwps!!!!
- more control w villager house placements
- being able to decorate your beach w pwps/other trees... maybe even decorating the ocean (what if you could put, like, a tiny inner tube in the water and sometimes villagers would float on it omg)
- achhd decorating w/ half units (so we can center things in town!!)
- more dialogue! (or dialogue that they add to- after only a year of playing, whenever a villager starts talking to me, i automatically know what they're going to say next)

Another thing is different facilities you can design like in Happy Home designer.

I can't remember if I posted my idea in this thread or not, so I'll post it again if so.

Tourists would be a fun new thing. Every so often a random villager will tour your town in tourist clothes and you can play unique games like the campsite games to get a unique furniture series. Sometimes they may even move in. Animals from your friend's towns can also tour your town via Wi-Fi and will recgonize you.

Another neat idea is a new crafting system like in Pocket Camp but without the IRL cashgrab. You can craft furniture for much less, and it's a great way to target certain furniture items if you have the materials. We could have a new NPC for this or just use the Retail store. Cooking recipes would also be great. Food should actually be edible besides fruit, and with a new restaurant venue where you can order meals with friends :)
