When I scan in a villager to move in and replace an existing villager.......

Will existing villager that's getting moved go through the whole in boxes process and all of that?

Also do villagers that you scan in, then move out end up in the void and hanging around the shops?

I ask because Gruff and Cole got exiled to the void a while back and I really don't want them to leave my main street and I'm scared I'm getting too close to my 16 villager limit!

Do you mean amiibos?

If you do, then yes. They move in and out exactly the same as regular villagers.

If a villager goes out of the 16 villager cycle, you can then move then back in.

Yeah, I'm talking about the amiibo cards! And I don't really want Gruff or Cole to move back into my village I just like seeing them every once in a while up on Main Street.

i don't know about the void but i know if you select them to move out when you scan in a new villager to move in, they will be in boxes that day. i have visited them right after i did that and they'll be inside their houses and everything in boxes.

I'm glad they change.
I got rid of my villagers for a reason.
I shouldn't have to see them on Main Street.
