When does the town tune play?

I feel as if I never actually hear it playing.

Every full hour and your villagers can also use it when you start talking to them or when they're happily whistling.

it plays every time you talk to a villager, normally and as noted above, every hour when the bells rings and when they're whistling.

The town tune (at least the top line) is also used for the bells you hear when you open doors.

It also plays a very sped up version every time you enter one of the stores :>

I always seem to hear mine. The villagers...do that little dance thing when they're happy, it plays on the hour, DJ KK remixes it, every time I walk into a store.

What is your town tune? Maybe you're just not noticing it?
