When do you consider yourself to have 'completed the game'?

Is that even possible for a game like Animal Crossing?

I think when I...
- have obtained the pic for all my villagers (until new ones arrive)
- have a perfect town rating
- have a fully grown plaza tree

No. You can't complete the game. There's only goals you can complete.

Id say when you upgrade your house fully and if your the mayor make your town have the perfect raeing

Perfect town
Full house
Full main street
Full plaza tree
Full encyclopedia

For me it's about having all main street upgrades and having the prefect town.

I think it would be really 'completed' when I have:

- obtained all fish, bugs & sea creatures
- all badges
- full museum
- full main street
- a finished perfect town
- full grown plaza tree

Let's all conclude that we'll only finish ACNL when our inner completionist has been satisfied :p

This! I'm not finished playing my town, so the game isn't over, but I consider my town is complete. I couldn't make a DA until it was; it is not a wip, it is done. I don't have a full catalog, all my villagers pics, a full plaza tree, all the badges...I think my museum is full.

I do have all four characters' houses the way I love them. I have all the PWP's I wanted, where I want them. I love my villagers, landscaping, flowers, bushes...main street is completely upgraded and I have perfect town rating.

I have moved on to "satisfying my inner completionist" (what a great phrase, Keldi!) in my second town. I suspect, though, that Elenrast will always hold first place in my heart because I put so much of my soul into it.

All gold badges
Fully upgraded house
Maximum HHA score
Full museum
Full encyclopedia
Full catalog (every item in the game)
full shop upgrades for every shop
all pwp unlocked
maximum bells in abd
having atleast 2 of every flower

When there's nothing else you want to do, except to start over. Then you can 'complete' the game again!
Ha. I'm not too sure if I'm fully serious when I say that..

Complete Encyclopedia
Complete Museum
Upgrade your house to the maximum amount possible (even move in 3 other characters for the game if you're looking for more of a challenge)
Obtain every single item (Clothes, Furniture, etc.) in the catalog
Learn every emotion from Shrunk
Have every type of fruit in your town
Complete Main Street
Discover every hybrid
Get all of your dreamy villagers to move in and stay in your town
(If you're an extremely hardcore player and I wouldn't know how you could keep track of this properly) Get every single villager's picture in the game
Complete every single gold version of the badges
Obtain Golden Tools in-game (not from outside sources)

There's probably much more that I can think of since there is so much to do in the game!

For me it never ends SKSKDKS

*Fully Landscaped
*Fully grown Town Tree
*Filled both encyclopedias
*Pay off all home loan
*Fill Catalogue
*Befriend Sable
*Get Golden Tools
*Get all my Villagers Pictures

(I'm basing this off me and Wild World but obviously you could also have

-Main Street
-Badges
-Island Medals
-etc)

I've set quite a high expectation for myself before I consider the town completed.

- Unlocked all of mainsteet
- Complete bug/fish/ocean collection
- Complete museum (including upstairs)
- Full house completed (all loans, every piece of furniture etc)
- Unlocked all PWP
- All badges
- Perfect town
- All tools
- Full catalogue
- All wanted hybrids and bushes etc in town (perfecct landscaping)
- All wanted villagers
