A local game store usually sells games early and I had them put me on the list for Smash 4 3DS. Anyone have any experience/know when game stores usually receive shipments for new games from Nintendo? Is it usually the day before like most other big-name games?

They receive it about a day before, some stores sell it early (but they aren't supposed to.)

Yeah I know, but I guess they gotta stay in business somehow. That sucks though, if they're going to get it a day early, I'll just wait until that midnight to get it digital. I really wanted it digital originally but I'd break if they had the game a significant time in advance, maybe 3+ days ahead.

I've found that it depends on both the store and the game. Some games aren't shipped until shortly before their release date, like GTAV or SSB4. High profile games. Others are shipped a week or two in advance. Some stores might start selling them right away, while others keep the stock in their warehouse and send it out to the different shops a day or two before the official release date, sometimes not even until its release date.

I've gotten games up to two weeks in advance due to a certain store here not really caring about street dates, and just shipping whenever they receive the game in question.

Usually around the start of the week they get most games, since Nintendo releases are typically weekends they'll have them for launch. Abiding by street dates are a different story.
