When can you edit the plaza?

Hello, I started animal crossing (new horizons) not long ago, and I was wondering when I can edit the plaza or put things on it, since this will be possible in the future, right? I currently have 6 citizens on my island, and I can already build bridges and cliffs, and move buildings. But I can't yet put things on my plaza. Thank you for your help!

The plaza can’t be decorated as sometimes it will decorate itself. It determines what the animals do in the plaza too. In autumn 3 animals can be found surrounding a grill and having a barbecue at times. Every season has a unique activity.

Hopefully a future update at least allows us to choose from a handful of different defaults. I'd be perfectly happy with having 5 or 6 preset designs to choose from. Something like...natural, modern, Eastern influence, European influence, etc. It really should be a rather straightforward update, should they choose to do it.

You also can't move the plaza. Since you just started, you might want to considered if you like the placement of the plaza or if you want to restart for another map.

There's no way to modify the plaza unfortunately. Sometimes a bench and grill appears there abut no permanent changes.

You can do it when the paid DLC comes out and you hand over your money to Nintendo for the privilege of moving your plaza.

I’d love an option to change the ground of plaza to dirt like how it was at the beginning. Also a gray stone option would be nice and match my first island much better.

Sadly there are no customization options for the plaza.... whatsoever. zip. none. quite sad. I mean, they might implement that in a future update, but I feel like if they found out about that in a datamine I'd've heard about it by now

Sometimes the villagers will do things in the plaza, though, like barbeque together, sweep, run around, or sit on a random bench that sometimes appears. There's also events held in the plaza. Other than that, it's just a big slab of rock and a building

Anyway. Sorry for the disappointment lol. Blame Nintendo

Yeah i would love if my plaza floor would match my in game path which is not custom design but the default stone one, so it would be neat if my path and plaza flooring would match . Furthermore, i would love it if i could change the aesthetics of the public buildings ( airport, plaza, nooks, museum, sisters shop and other if we get more ) It would be neat to have a few options to choose from and them if we could actually decide on colors within those choices it would be a blast!

Of course !

But people all around the world are price sensitive right now with Covid and the huge lose of jobs which ,once we are able to deal with the virus, on a sustainable and constant manner the whole world will live, once again, a period of economic recession before been able to reach the point it had before Covid appeared in our lives. Of further note, this paid DLC, if i am not wrong, would be the very first payed DLC ( not counting cards ) so taking into account that the games is still very empty content wise, if they rely to heavily on paid content, they would probably ( depending on structure, price of those DLCs and the amount of DLCs per year or periods ) experience a decline in players most likely.

I don't know just, I am splashing my mind hahah, plus if they actually did the paid DLC it better be freaking amazing never seen things before like ( cooking, having pets, eating with villagers, bigger size of island etc )

I really wish we could relocate RS as well as customize the exterior. the colors of the building and the brick flooring just don't really match my theme that well ;u;
